It's no big deal, just download, then install the appropriate audio driver from HP Support,

HP Support > Pavilion dv9000t Notebook PC > Software and Drivers Downloads, Vista operating system,

Left-click on the + sign next to - Driver - Audio

Left-click right on the blue file name - Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver

You'll be taken to another page. On this page go down to the heading - Details and specifications
To the right of - File name: click on the blue - sp35849.exe [1/1, 3.57M]

A small window will pop up, Opening sp35849.exe
Left-click on - Save File

Another small window will pop up.
Write down what is in the top header of this window. This is where the file will download to.

It may state Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads in the wording.
{Desktop, or Documents, or Downloads, for Win Vista, and Win7}

Desktop: The file - sp35849.exe will be on your desktop screen. (With a yellow folder icon next to it)

My Documents: Left-click on Start, then on My Documents.
{Documents: Left-click on the Windows logo button, then on Documents, for Vista and Win7}

Downloads: Left-click on Start, then on My Documents. Double-Click on Downloads.

When you see the file name Double-Click right on it.
Follow the easy instructions of the Installation Wizard.
(Or find the file with .exe behind it, and double-click on this file)

Restart your computer if not asked to do so.

For XP there are two driver files listed. If you have a Conexant audio device, you have to download, and install the second audio file first -
Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646)

Then download, and install the top driver file -
Conexant High Definition Audio Driver

Hi. I think that this may not be an audio driver as such, but nore of an audio codec issue.

I recommend that you download a program called K-lite codec pack.

It is freely available and I will even provide the link to it here

This offers different levels of downloads, depending on how many features you want them to work with, the higher the level, the more types of files that it will work with.

When you go to to address, you will be offered different mirrors to download from, just pick the first one, as they all work the exact same way.

It will take you to a secondary download page, the download button will be on the right side of the screen., Click the download button, and your download will start automatically.

After you download the file, run the program, then when finished, reboot.

This should solve your sound problems

I hope this works for you, as it seems to cure most of the problems like this that come up.

You can download the drivers free from their website. The drivers are what syncs the player with the pc.
Go to the website, look under the downloads or support tab. Find the drivers, download the file. Once it is downloaded, double-click the file so it installs the drivers into your pc. One it is completely installed, the reboot the pc and then try connecting.

If the file that you downloaded is an older version than the version number stated on the Web site, you may need to clear your Web browser's cache or temporary folder. Then, delete the downloaded file and download it again, verifying the directory you are downloading to. If the file that you download still shows an older version, the publishing process may not have had time to complete. Please wait a few hours and try again.

The Audio Driver in the computer might have uninstalled accidently or corrupted or missing.

Re-installing the Audio Driver should bring the sound back. Please download the Audio Driver and install it in the Computer to fix the sound issue.

Download the Audio Driver.

Download the file to a folder in the Computer. After that, please open the folder where the file is downloaded, after that double click the file to begin the intallation. Please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation process. After installing the Driver, restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect.
This should bring the sound back.
