If it won't read any disc you put in, consider getting a new DVD player, the eye is most likely gone bad. If it is only one disc that you can't read i would suggest a Scotch DVD Cleaner kit. Cleans and Repairs discs, helps prevent skipping and mistracking, and repairs minor surface scratches improving disc audio and image quality.
Well your disc drive is out of alignment kind of a hard subject to explain so please dont rate me low. Its more then likely the top of your disc drive is not aligned with the bottom of the disc drive you need them to be aligned so it will take discs in and out. Theres gears on the bottom of the cd drives lid. They meet with gears on the top of the bottom part and if they arent aligned they will not accept disc right. Take it apart and with the cd drive lid pulled up hit eject. This will bring the bottom part of the drive into place. Then just easily lay the top part back down and it needs to be directly from the top not side ways. Then when you have your ps3 cd drive lid on you can try to see if it accepts discs right. If it does your good to go if not you need to mess with it a little more. If you need more help explaining just ask I will try to find you a video showing how to do it.
anyone with this error code, it is NOT a firmware issue, it is for
sure hardware failure, the blueray disc is gone and will need replacing. instructions to replace it can be found here. Let me know if it works for you.
i have seen this before... there is a little eye inside the ps3 bluray drive that senses when a disc enters and starts turning wheels with rubber feet on them to pull the disc in. when that eye goes bad for what ever reason the only way to get it to accept discs is to force it in slightly and it will spread the acceptance arms and pull it in. if it will not eject the disc correctly then the drive has been disassembled and needs to be reseated until it function right.
the acceptance eye is fairly cheap to buy online but can be a pain to replace if you dont know what you are doing.
ok This is a failure inside the system and can be cause by the disc being stuck in an okward position you can open by turning of your console from the back and opening up your PS3, DON'T DO THIS IF YOU HAVE WARRENTY, if you dont have warrenty open up ur ps3 and release the jammed disc but if you have warrenty dont do anything just send it away to get repaired
sounds like your motherbord is gone friend, if you know you put the drive in correctly and cleaned the lense then its your motherbord.is it possible you bought another faulty blu ray drive or lense?i fix ps3's and have never seen this problem not fixed with a simple cleaning of the lense with waterd down alcohol
Unfortunately their is no step by step or guaranteed method to fix this. Here are a few things you could try: turning it off and on, press/hold the eject button, resetting while holding the eject button, shaking or tapping it a little while trying to eject it, holding it different ways ex. face disc opening down towards floor while gently tapping and pressing the eject button. Essentially do whatever you can to get the disc to jar loose, >but whatever you do, don't for any reason stick anything in the slot or try to open the case <Doing this will void the warranty for sure! If none of these work your last resort would be to return it for a new one (providing you still have your receipt and it's less than a year old) or take it to a costly repair guy.
