My pioneer vsx 1015 . I had it turned up rather loud for a few hours a few nights ago and it suddenly cut out. powered off. When i turn it on either directly or through the remote control the power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off again even before the display comes on. Have I fried the unit or is it an easy fix? I live some distance from the nearest authorised dealer and was hoping there was a fix I could attempt myself before making the tedious journey. The unit was bought about 4 years ago new and sat in its box for about 3 years before we finally hooked it up at the end of November last year so it hasnt had a great deal of use. I have unplugged the unit as per the trouble shooting guide in the manual twice. once for a few seconds and a second time leaving it unplugged for a few hours but it still does the same thing. Help???? Mike

With nothing showing up on the front panel display, I would first look at the power transformer. there is a thermal fuse built into the transformer core, and with your description on what happened, it could have gotten too hot and blown this fuse.

SOURCE: Shows to be stuck in Standby.

hold down the enter button and the advanced surround button for 5 seconds or so and the amp will restart, the display will come up and hopefully it will be ok. its often caused by using speakers under 8 ohms, or damaged speaker cables etc

Disconnect all your speaker wires from the back of the receiver and turn it back on. If it shuts off, you need to have it serviced. If not post a comment and I can walk you thru troubleshooting. Hope this helps

Have a pioneer VSX-D603S and just added bose 100 watt speakers. As i turn up the volume the speakers keep cutting out. Not very loud before it cuts out. What can I do?

What model of Bose, how connected on what channels? Do you know the impedance? If they came from one of their all-in-one systems you're playing with fire (almost literally) mixing them with non-Bose amplifiers.

AV Receiver pioneer vsx D914 does not turn on

See now what happen to me just last night actually was I was listening to music and had the receiver turned up to about -55. all of a sudden, it showed me AMP ERROR and shut off all on it's own and would not turn on.... I later was snooping around my wiring and fount two wires were touching. I have had the receiver unplugged since the incedent last night and I am going to try to get it working when I get home from work.. I know that it is a beautiful sound system and its sound quality is just amazing. It's definately the best system I have owned and I really hope that leaving it off for 24 hours will reset it and make it work again. I don't really have the money to go out and buy a new one.. nor do I really want to... If you have any luck you can let me know! Thanks!
