Have you installed the device drivers? You can download drivers from Canon Europe. Run scandisk on your computer just to eliminate any OS issues.

My Radio Shack Pro-82 Scanner is not working at all.i turned it on and it wont even scan. i cant even hear the squelch. and the only time it picks up something is when its on the air setting it picks up...

Ok I have had the same problem with the Pro 82 and the biggest problems I've found for it not to scan is Corrosion of the terminals not only outside but inside. Even on the keypad and pcb board. SOLUTION: Just take it all apart with a small philips pecision screwdriver and with a dry toothbrush scrape all the corrosion off the board. This always solves my problem and it should yours. Even if theres no corrosion visible on the terminals be assured there is still some inside keping this from functioning correctly. Shotgun420

2000 beetle- while driving yellow emissions symbol came on. what does that mean?

This is OBD - On - Board -Diagnostic Display.
On Board Diagnostics, OBD-II, is required on all automobiles and light trucks from 1996 onward. OBD-II is a set of specifications for monitoring and reporting on engine performance in modern automobiles.
If the Service Engine light is on, then connecting a Code Scanner on OBD Connector, the Code is picked up and the code explanation can be found. If this is a False Code, this can be Cleared with the code scanner, after reading the code. The location of OBD-II connector in your car can be found here:
http://www.obdclearinghouse.com/index.php?body=oemdb
Remember the Check Engine light only comes on for emissions-related failure (which includes fuel and ignition, too). A separate warning light will illuminate if there are non-emission problems such as low oil pressure, charging system problems, etc.
If the light is on because of a misfire or fuel delivery problem, and if the problem does not occur after three drive cycles, the Check Engine light may go out. Whether the light goes out or remains on, a code will be snt and remain in the computer memory to help you diagnose the fault.
More information for the codes can be found here:
http://www.aa1car.com/library/ic10224.htm
After the code is picked up with a scanner, the code explanation is founded, and a decision has to be made to fix the problem or to clear the code. This can be done with the same scanner. If you do not have a scanner, any AutoZone, or Advance car parts store can do it for free.

I got one of these at a garage sail for really cheap, i was checking to see if it worked at home. I have a scanner and found a channel that my scanner picked up. Well as soon as the scanner gets about 6...

just because you hear it on the scanner, doesn't mean that the scanner is on the right frequency. You might just be getting RF saturation because you are close.

Most scanners do not cover the 27mhz range which is what a CB is on. If your scanner is no in 27mhz, then you are just getting RF saturation, and its just bleed over. 27.185 is channel 19 on a CB.

The radio probably works fine. You will need another CB to really test it.

set it up in a car, with an appropriate antenna, and a proper SWR reading. (antenna needs to be tuned to get a good swr) and then go on channel 19 while on a highway and say, "Break one nine for a radio check." if the radio is working some one will tell you "Its working." You will most likely hear truckers on the radio before you even say anything.

HELP with bc350c scanner, won't pick up feeds

Sounds like an antenna problem. Remove your back-of-set antenna and see if reception changes. If it's the same or nearly the same, check the antenna solder connections inside the set and resolder if necessary. You might also try an outdoor antenna or one of the indoor/outdoor units that's enclosed in PVC pipe. These are fairly inexpensive and can be found on eBay or other sources.
