Sure thing, if you want to post the model number for the stove I can find it for you, but regardless I would recommend you call GE parts and get them to send you the correct element switch. Give them a call at 1-877-959-8688, but make sure you have the model number (found on the back of the stove, or on the manual if you have it) when you call in.

Thanks
Tim

Did you attempt to contact GE for the service guide? I can't find it available online here.... you will need to contact their service department.

    Thanks

GE profile JP969 fault code F113

I took the cooktop apart I removed the terminal from the main electronic board . The left front burner has 2 white wires and 2 yellow (my case). The 2 white wires lead to the RTD sensor. With an electric meter set on OHMS check continuity between the two wires leading to the RTD sensor .If the reading is more than 1030 ohms is good if not than you need to replace the whole burner that comes as a complete unit with sensor and ribbon heating element.I found it on line for $114.00 +shipping.I wish they sold only the sensor but it would've been too cheap and not worth it for the makers . All connections to that burner are very easy put back together . Some suppliers may ask for as much as $175-$195 for the complete unit .

Corning cooktop burner outage

The cooktop has to be examined for failure of the element or the switch. Some of the switches & some of the elements are still around. Have the elements checked for continunity. You will have to take it out of the counter and take the unit apart to do this.

GE Cooktop JP930 surface element not working

It sounds like the burner needs to be replaced. When they burn out sometimes they short out to ground. The cooktop will have to be removed from the counter and the glass top opened. You will probably be able to see where the element is burned out. Replace it and you should be fine. If it is too expensive to fix just disconnect the wires to the burner where they attach to the control . Then you can use the remaining burners. I really don't know what a replacement burner costs. An open coil is around $30.

Electric cooktop burner malfunction

The outer ring of the element is most likely broken. You'll need to replace the element.

Burner always on high

I have had this same problem on the JP350.

I have replaced the switch several times, and am now tempted to replace the heating element and the switch the next time it becomes constant (currently, it is intermittent... which has led to some burnt food).
