40 inch LE40R88BDX/XEU model past few days not switching on right away, lots of clicking noises coming from it, eventually comes on after pressing standby button on and off. Now tv screen completly black will not switch on at all with remote of tv button, still making clicking noises as if switching on and off. any ideas?

If the set is only 9 months old, you should call for warranty service right away as this coiuld be a costly problem. This problem sounds like the main board is bad and you will be looking to pay about 500 to 600 bucks if you do not get it repaired under the warranty. Good Luck

This is an indication of out-of-regulation in the power supply section. The very common caused of this fault is the leaky electrolytic capacitor in that section. It will drop the supply from normal voltage and will disable the unit.It needs a little warm-up to make itself stable but the symptom will get worst like what you've experienced right now. Sometimes it has a bulged/dome at the top but not all, it is better that you have a capacitor checker/tester to determine its condition. Your unit will back to normal again if the leaky capacitor is isolated.

If you don't have necessary tools and test instruments, and can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the problem. Don't attempt to work in the power supply if you don't know the safety precaution of handling it, there some stored electricity enough to hurt you with a little mistake only.

Also check if your unit is under warranty /extended warranty, avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free. Don't open the back panel, this will void the warranty.

Yes, any belt dressing only lasts for a little while. You need to resolve the issue(s). First, consider replacing the belt, eventually they get shiny and make squeaks. Look carefully for pulley alignment, if off jsut slightly, the belt does not lay correctly and causes noise. Sometimes you can rough up the offending pulley and keep the noise away for a longer while, use coarse sandpaper.

If there is no "clicking noises" at all first you have to bypass the Clutch Start Switch. To do so remove two wires from the Start Switch and connect them together.
If it doesn't work trouble shoot starter and solenoid. With a wire connected to (+) terminal of the battery power up the solenoid, at the thin wire contact of the starter. You need another person to help you, in the cabin turning the ignition key in ON and start position. If starter and solenoid are O.K this will start your car. If not you have to replace the starter + solenoid assembly. Good Luck.

the defective caps in general will be blown upwards there heads will not be flat the value will be indicated on the defective capaciter you must respect polarity .

u have bad capacitor on power supply

It sounds like the power supply board has some bad capacitors that need to be replaced. Samsung is covering the cost to repair this problem on some models. You can call 1-800-samsung to find out if your unit is covered.

You plasma cells have died off. That relay making noise is not good. Sorry about the bad news. Plasma tv are knowing to do that after few years or so.

I had the same issue. It was the relay overload which essentially provides the extra boost to get the compressor going. The switch tries for about 10 seconds before giving up and then retries 3 - 4 minutes later. In the early stages of failure, eventually it will work and the compressor will kick on. But eventually the switch will fail and will just cycle through the 10 second attempt every 3 to 4 minutes. The part is about $35 - part number 67005560.
