You can just connect your hard drive to your pc and open the folder from my computer and select the folders that you want to delete and press the delete key in your keyboard. then the computer will ask you that " you want to delete the selected files and folders?" then you press ok. it will deleted

SOURCE: How do I delete folders

This can happen when you place a drive in multiple computers with windows. Also this can happen if the system used the drive to extract system folders.

right clickt he items and then click security. click advanced and you can go to the owner tab. under that there is a way to take ownership for the selected items and all subitems.

SOURCE: cannot copy files to Iomega 500 GB external hard drive.

It depends on how you formatted the the drive.
If it was formatted FAT it will work on both Mac and PC.
If you formatted to HFS+ (the native mac format) then it will only work on a mac.

I have a dell laptop and a HP desktop computer, and a 1TB Iomega external hard drive. THE PROBLEM..the video folders/files can be accessed on the laptop but not on the desktop ? the folders are empty

Hi,
it might be that the files are hidden and the option on the desktop to show hidden files is not enabled.. Try enabling hidden files and folders. Start--Control Panel--- Folder Options---View and then enable hidden files and folders.
Hope it helps,

Regards

How do I get my files back from this external drive

Do you want specific files, or the whole drive?

You should be able to access this drive by going to your "My Computer" and selecting the device from the list.

Then just highlight the folders or files you want to move to your hardrive, and drag them or copy them onto the location you want them to go.

If you need more info, please email me back.

If this helps, please give me 4-thumbs up rating.
Thanks.
