Is the squelch off? Is there even a crackle from the speaker? Does it appear to go into transmit?
If you have a friend can listen in while you try transmitting, get him to let you know if voice can be heard, or a carrier appears (on AM). If TX OK, try sideband, if OK, look for faulty speaker/ socket/ wiring. If no audio on TX, suspect the audio amp is bad.

I can hear my friend but he cant hear me..... swrs on both are fine,,, both base stations, im using a homebrew dipole and hes using an upside down whip stuck to a ceiling grid

First of all, how far are you from your friend? Second, he does not hear you but does he hear anyone else on his radio? If not, he might have a receive problem with his station but it's not his antenna. If he hears other traffic, your signal does not get out. If you don't have anyone else in the area, swap antennae with your friend and this will tell you if it's antenna related or radio related. Let me know what you find out or give me more info! Good luck!

I have my radio hooked up in my jeep and i can hear other people talk but it seems that they cant hear me talking. Its all hooked up right. i checked to see if there was a tuning thing on it and there...

Turn up "MIC GAIN" also check and see if it keys up full scale 4 watts on output meter. If that doesn't do it change MICS. Go for a power mic by cobra that runs off say a double AA battery. It may be conditions also or your out of range of persons. check Antenna,Swr reads (should be 1.1 to 1.5)on a Radio Shack meter. Try it all.

Cant hear anyone unless they are close, no one responses to me, dont think they can hear me. I am using ngp firestick, 45 ft rv, antenna is on top of it. the cables are tight, not sure why, but its...

have the swr's checked on the antenna. It should be free at any cb shop if not dont trust them. that should be a service to the public for you they provide... make sure the antenna is clear from any metal objects near it.

I have a cobra 29 nw ltd classic i cannot hear or be heared

Start with the antenna that you have hooked to it, is it grounded, is the coax in good shape, is the connector in good shape. stuff like that.

ICAN HEAR EVERYBODY BUT I CANT GET OUT I SWITCHED MIKS AND STILL CANT GET OUT people can hear me but when they talk to me all i hear is static

You said that you can hear everybody and then you said all you can hear is static. Which is it?

If you can hear everybody and you have switched to a known good mike, then you either have a bad antenna or you have a bad final amplifier caused by a bad antenna or by having transmitted at sometime without an antenna at all.

Cant transmit out

Not really enough info to help you, but you MUST check the SWR of your antenna system. I've seen many cases where the antenna studs were incorrectly installed, shorting the antennas to ground. Also, make sure the Dynamike control on the CB radio is turned fully clockwise.
