I haven't worn it in a while, and I know it winds from wearing it, but I have been wearing it for over 24 hours and it is still not running. If you don't wear it for a month or so, how long should it take to run again? Also, does this model have a manual winding feature? The only serial # I could find was C279/379C. I am assuming the model number below is correct.

It needs to be worn to self wind. I actually bought a winding box so I put watch away it will be turned as if on your wrist. These vary and having owned a couple of winders I chose one that is belt driven, found on Amazon.
if you wear it to sleep it may wind down.
Playing video games ,little wrist motion, may find it stopped.
you mentioned someone to.d you it was fully wound! How can they tell. I cannot wind mine if yours needs winding from stem you may not have real Rollex.

An automatic watch receives it power from the mainspring, which is wound by hand (most watches) and from movement of the arm which causes the Oscillating Weight to spin around and wind the mainspring. The problem is that it takes many, many rotations of the weight to put enough winds on the mainspring to keep it going. If you have not worn the watch for 24 hours you need to put initial winds on the mainspring, either by turning the crown or by swinging the watch around 30-40 times. If the watch is in good mechanical condition, once you put the initial winds on it, you can put it on your wrist and it should run overnight if taken off. Most older Seiko watches cannot be wound by hand.

I'm guessing it's a Fully Automatic watch,which if worn all day should store enough 'kenetic energy'without manual winding!! You can buy watch winders on eBay that constantly move the watch when your not wearing it to keep it wound up!!

Almost all automatic wristwatches made today have an 18-24 hour "power reserve" when fully wound. A 24 hour reserve is actually very, very good. I can't think of a modern self-winding wristwatch that has a 48-hour power reserve because that would require a super-long or much larger mainspring than would fit in a modern watch movement / case. There may be some hand-crafted or super-premium watches that can do this, but only a very select few.
Manual wind railroad pocket watches, which were some of the finest and most accurate mechanical watch movements ever made, generally had a 40-hour power reserve. That extra capacity was created by using a large mainspring to store the extra energy. These mainsprings could be used because of the much larger size of these watches, compared to modern wristwatches.
If you are concerned about keeping your watch ticking, even when you're not wearing it, you might want to look at a "watch winder"--basically, a small watch case that rotates the watch for you, keeping the automatic winding rotor moving and the watch ticking. In addition, sitting at a computer all day will wind your watch much less than walking and otherwise moving around. Even though you're wearing your watch, if you're not moving, you're not winding it.

When you first receive your automatic watch, you must give the watch an initial pre-wind. If you wear it everyday, it will continue to wind itself on your wrist when you move around and walk. If you stop wearing it for more than approximately 2 days, the watch will need to be reset, but will then automatically wind itself once you start wearing it again. The disadvantage to this is pretty clear. Your watch does not t keep time if you do not wear it constantly. The advantages are that you will never have to replace a battery, the watch keeps great time when it is running, and most of all, this type of movement is exactly what the originals use! If your Automatic is losing or gaining time in a 24-hour period the watch needs to be adjusted. All of our automatics have an adjustment screw on the movement just like the originals. Any local jeweler can service these watches.

Use a winder if you must but I recommend just winding and setting when you want to wear them as most winders I have seen are very cheap and unreliable. Expect up to 50 hours from most watches usually not less than 30, this is if the have recent< 5 years, overhaul.

You have to wind the watch till it is fully wound (significant resistance should be felt).
It doesn't matter how many times you wind it (1 or even 40) - what matters is the strength of the spring.
Do as follows:
At any time in the morning wind the watch up till you feel there is no more winding left (should be quite tough). Memorize the time you did it.
Leave the watch (or wear it) till it stops completely.
Count the hours your watch did work (from the time you wound it).
Now you know exact power reserve for your watch.
It is advised to wind the watch 2-3 hours before the power reserve is gone.

You have to wind the watch first. Pull out the crown (the knob on the right side of the watch) to the intermediate position (the winding position will not move the hands or the date so this is how you know that you are in the correct place. Most watches have 3 positions where you can set the date, time, and wind it) and wind the watch. It will need to be re-wound every 24-48 hours.

If not worn, you should wind it about 50 turns before wearing. If worn every day after, and you are active you shouldn't have to wind it again. If you wear it every once in awhile, then about 50 turns should do. What happens is people think that when they put on their automatic watch, and it starts it is going, but it needs that back-up power to run correctly and not run slow.

sounds like you need a new watchmaker, Your watch is designed to be worn 16 hours a day an rested for 8 while you sleep and this should keep it running. there are several different mainsprings that can be installed depending on the age and your activity level. I would be happy to take a look at it for you.
