Hello,

The reason there is an error message on your memory card is because the memory card might have been damaged or probably not inserted properly.

To find out if the memory card is damaged, try to use the memory card in other devices that supports the memory card to see if it works. If it works on other devices, then the problem if from the card reader that is in the camera, and if it does not work, then the memory card is faulty. And the only solution is to replace the memory card.

To test the slot in the camera, try a tested okay memory card on it, if it does not work then the slot is faulty and to solve this problem, i will strongly advice you take the camera to a camera repair guy to clean the slot for you.

Goodluck

SOURCE: memory card error

Check the slot and see if the pins inside are fine, no breakages, free from dust etc. Try turning the camera on and off (completely remove batteries etc).

SOURCE: Anytime I inserted memory card

Hello

OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.

6c99e31.jpg

If the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to try the card in another camera.

If the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader in your camera.

If you open you sd slot and look inside with a sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work as follows:

1. When no card is inserted / no write protection , the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the card is lock.

Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card normally.

It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to bend it.

If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further information

Kind regards
Andrea

The S2 IS uses SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. While you can use SDHC cards with the SD750, you will have to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller, with the S2 IS.

My memory card keep on showing "memory card error". how can I save my pictures in that memory?

You could use a separate card reader to download your pics. Then, format the card in the camera.

My camera fell & when i tried to open it it says memory card error

Digital cameras are very sensitive to drops/falls. 2 things possible, 1 try removing and reinserting the card hopefully that clears it up, if not take the battery out and allow it to reset for about 30 sec. If either of these doesn't solve your issue Your next step is camera shipping.

My Canon Powershot A560 memory card is locked and it is the camera doing it not the memory stick. And there is nothing in the manual about how to fix it. When I turn on my camera I get an error...

Remove the memory card from the camera. Note that there is a small slide switch on one of the long edges of the card. Slide the switch to unlock or lock the card.

Camera says no memory card but its inserted-why?

Hi

There is a very small metal contact inside the memory card slot that is pressed when the card is inserted all the way. If this is damaged the camera will 'think' there is no memory card and will not work.

You can replace the board (PCB) and that will solve the problem, or if you know somebody who is really handy they can open it up and probably bend it so that it always thinks there is a card installed even when there is not.

We can repair it for you by replacing the PCB, we are an affordable digital camera repair business, let us know if we can help.

Incompatible jpeg

Did you transfer the pictures back and forth from the camera to computer before you noticed this? If you did that, you would be changing the format that the camera recognizes thus preventing you to review those pictures on your camera again. This is normal and does not affect the picture as long as you can view them on your computer.

How to transer the images and records from memory card to pc?

OK, LET ME SEE IF I CAN EXPLAIN THIS FOR YOU. TO TRANSFER YOUR IMAGES FROM YOUR CAMERA OR MEMORY CARD YOU NEED EITHER A CABLE TO CONNECT YOUR CAMERA TO A USB PORT OF YOUR COMPUTER. IF YOUR COMPUTER HAS MEMORY CARD SLOTS, YOU CAN ENTER YOUR CARD DIRECTLY TO YOUR COMPUTER. I ALSO HAVE A WEBSITE FOR YOU THAT YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE MANUAL FOR YOUR CAMERA. IT IS LISTED BELOW. JUST CLICK ON THE LINK AND IT WILL TAKE YOU TO THE PAGE. I HOPE THIS SOLVES MOST OF YOUR PROBLEMS! IF YOU NEED HELP,REPLY TO: ARCLIGHT1217.

Locked camera?

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try another card.

Memory card error/card locked

I don't know for sure, but since it is "grayed out," it MAY be that your camera can';t utilize a card that big (in gig's that is.)

Just a guess.
