You may find the user manual on this site, where you can download it to access your router's configuration utility. On most routers it can be accessed using the IP address 192.168.0.1 in your web browser.
Yes, it is possible to set up this device without the disk.
You'll need to download the "quick router setup" program from the D-Link web site here:
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=DIR-625
At that site, click the "Support Resources" tab, then click the "Additional Downloads" link, and finally click on the "Download Now" button next to the "Quick Router Setup" entry.
This will download an executable file to your Windows machine. Be sure to save the file to your desktop, and then double-click the .exe file and follow the directions.
I had a similar problem in the past. I would suggest the following solutions:
1) Download the latest drivers for the D-Link DIR-625 or D-615 Router at the manufacturer's website DIR-625: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=501 DIR-615: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565 -Make sure to download the correct drivers for your operating system (XP, Vista, Windows 7).
2) Download the latest firmware for the D-Link DIR-625 or DIR-615. It is available through the same listed websites. Note: Make sure to use direct connection for firmware upgrades so that it upgrades securely without errors.
3) Make sure the modem is up to date. If it's your modem, then upgrade drivers and firmware by googling the appropriate model number and brand of the modem.
4) If it is not your modem, you can still upgrade the drivers and firmware. Further assistance should be available through your ISP (Comcast, Verizon).
5) Sometimes a connection may be disconnecting because the firmware for the connection via FiOS/DSL may not be upgraded in the infrastructure outside your house. To solve this issue, call up your ISP and tell him that you are disconnecting several times a day and ask if firmware is up to date.
6) It may be a faulty modem. If so, call up your ISP and they should replace it for free (generally).
7) Fault router may entail customer support at D-Link. Just contact through email and check your warranty. They may help you even if the product is out of warranty (happened to me).
turn over the router and it will be there failing that then you can use an eathernet cable to the computer/laptop and use the d link server adress to go into the router and find the pass code put 192.168.99 into the address bar and take it from there hope this helps
Normally the Router does the Port forwarding as below, try this, Prepare the Router as this stage differs from one router to another. We will give you a general idea and you should refer to the manual of your router for confirmation.
Go to the administration interface of the router by typing its IP address in the web browser (for example 192.168.1.1)
Enter Login and Password
In the page that comes up, search for Port Forwarding.
Then add following data:
Name: Give it a unique name like Remote Desktop
External Port: 3389 or whatever
Internal Port: 3389 or whatever
Destination IP address/server: Enter the IP address of the computer as defined in step 1 (e.g. 192.168.1.99)
If necessary punch through the firewall too, on those same ports.
Does your modem has a NAT too? if not then upgrade the firmware of the router that usually fix the problem, if not then ask your ISP and see if they are blocking the ports. have you tried connection without the router to see if that will work?
