No Power To Canon Digital Rebel XT

I cant get my Digital Rebel XT to power up. The CF pins all look good, the battery shows it has power before it went dead I took the CF card out to read it in my computer card slot. Charged the battery installed the card turned it on, nothing? could the little disk looking battery being dead cause this? Can I diagnose the problem some how before sending it to canon? Similar problem, Have three different batteries, but cannot get the camera to power up at all. Have not replaced anything, checked CF card in a different card reader - no problem there. Cleaned battery contacts with eraser. No juice

    Try a few things first.

Camera power 'off'' - remove battery and clean the contacts (shiney metal strips) on the battery.

Now remove lens and clean the lens contacts also.

put a cap on the camera (no lens)

Reinstall the charged battery and turn on the camera.

It should start up. If so, turn it back off and reinstall the lens.

Many of the problems related to Canon seem to be related to
electrical contacts or connections. It kind of gives them quirky
    personalities.

Could also be the interlock switch on the CF door - Check the little tab
near the door hinge (Top side of the camera) hasn't been damaged. If
the tab doesn't operate the little switch then your camera won't turn
    on.

My canon xt rebel says err cf and wont do anything i bought a new one an the same thing whats wrong

One of more of the CF pins inside your camera are bent over. This is very common. The solution is to remove the main circuit and replace the bent/broken pins. Most repair shops will charge between $150-$200 to fix this.

Canon rebel xt eos shows ERR CF. What do I do now?I tried a new flash card but still got the same error message. When I try to preview pictures I have already taken the screen says ¨no image¨. My...

Check that the pins in the camera that connect to the CF card are clean and not bent. You will probably need a good light and a magnifying glass to see into the card slot. If you can see a pin that is bent you could try straigtening it. BEWARE- turn off camera and use a non conducting "stick" ie cocktail or toothpick. Not sure for a Canon but a colleague paid £40 for a new pin assembly for a Nikon with similar problem.
Hope this helps.

Canon EOS/Rebel XT won't power up

Joe, this happened to me, just tonight... I got a new CF card and stuck it in, turned it on and one CF card flash. Completely dead from there. I found one of the CF card pins bent over, shorted out the socket and blew the mainboard fuse. I took the camera apart, found the fuse (labelled K) about under the set button area) I bridged the fuse with a bit of solder, straightened out the pin in the socket, put it all back together and it's working fine. The fuse is under the right side shield cover, it's labelled with a letter K. There is another fuse on the power inlet board (below the shutter button) and it's labelled 'P'...

Canon Rebel xt does not accept CF cards for no apparent reason

It sounds like a bent pin in the CF slot. This is not a do it yourself fix. Take it to a repair shop.

CF Card not found

Ok here is the issues with the Canon 300D digital Rebel XT model of camera. First issue bent pins or broken pins the CF card reader on this camera is Surface mounted soildered onto the bottom half of the mainboard a large ammount of disasimboly is required. After removing the mainboard next you need is a desolder rework station. to carefully remove the CF card reader from the mainboard one messup and it might be easier to replace the mainboard. Sometimes. next issue is the power issue if you have no bent pins or missing pins, and the battery door is pushing on the door closure switch and the memory card door is pusting on its door closure switch then most likely you issue is 1 of 3 fuses underneath the power switch. these switches are the size of a few grains of salt very very small.I charge 150.00 to change the fuses and 225.00 to replace the CF card reader as long as none of the traces are damaged. if they are damaged the main board would need to be replaced and it is around 250.00 + depending on the parts cost at the time. If your good at soldering go for it. if not then let the experts do it.

I am getting a ERR CF with my Rebel XT

You've probably gotten bent pins in the camera. Has to go to the shop.

Err CF

the only possible for this error is. where the cf plugs into. the pins at the bottom of the CF chamber are bent. A close inspection with a good light should confirm this

No Power To Canon Digital Rebel XT

Change out the CR2016 3V battery. You have to remove the rechargeable battery to get to the CR2016. Refer to the manual for proper instructions.

Had the same issue with a two year old camera. This solved my problem.

Canon ds6041

The error 02 can come up when there is CF card problem : card not seated properly , card takes too long to come on line from the cameras point of view or if one of the the pins inside CF card chamber is faulty.
