Brother PC-3000 Sewing Machine won't wind the bobbin. It makes a terrible sound. Brother stopped making the whole winding part. What it can be done?

It just needs cleaning and servicing (terrible sounds = lubrication). Parts seldom need replacing, it just needs tightening up. Service centres can usually get parts.

My machine makes a terrible squeaking sound at the handwheel?when I wind the bobbin. What is squeaking and can I fix it myself?

Depends on the make & model...

Some older mechanical sewing machines need regular cleaning & oiling. Check your user manual.

Grinding shaft

Possibly the top of the shaft near the balance wheel needs a drop of oil it is always overlooked, if you do not have an oil hole near the balance wheel either you have to take the top off the machine or separate the body to get to it if you have a two part body machine

The motor runs but the needle won't go up and down. When I turn the wheel it will turn and that moves the needle up and down but makes a clicking sound. I've taken it apart and cleaned it even oiled it and...

Hi,
It sounds like the bobbin winder is engaged. On the top of the machine on the right hand side is a spindle that you can put your bobbin on to wind it. Make sure this spindle is pushed to the left when you want to sew and pushed to the right when you want to wind a bobbin.

Sears Kenmore Sewing Machine Model 385. 1254180 Bobbin Won't Wind

The winding sound is the rubber O-ring against the spinning pulley (back of hand wheel) - do not let this continue, it will wear out the O-ring.

I had the same problem and I found the shaft bushing of the winder dry and needed lubed. Use oil or spray lithium grease and it should work fine. Spin the bobbin shaft by hand (not the hand wheel) to get it freed up after oiling.

You can oil from the top and should take off the side case to clean the excess oil from the O-ring. The shaft bushing is a tight fit and any dry oil will get sticky and prevent winding.
