Hi i'm trying to unlock my password to my new itouch and i never put in a paswword can you help?

    I forgot my lock code, How can I re-set it? Is there a way. When I plug it in to my computer I get the same thing, Can't connect to i tunes enter lock code. This is wear I have the problem, I put it id the dresser and now I can't remember it. I don't have the software for it any more, my son crashed my PC and I can't find it. You must thing, ( what a fool ) This is why you back up. I wont do that anymore. Can you help me?

    2nd generation itouch that is locked. No screen appears with sliding button when home button is pressed. It says "iPod is disabled connect to iTunes." Still same screen on itouch when connected to computer but when I helded the reset button iTunes window poped up saying " what can I do to fix this??

If you do not know your passcode then make sure it is plugged in 2 the cp and make sure the itouch is on the screen where it says enter passcode. then you hold the power and home button at the same time until the itouch completely turns off and then you keep on holding both buttons until the apple logo again. and after that appears, you let go of the power button but you keep holding the home button until the itouch says its connected to itunes. and then you are allowed to access it on itunes. then you need to restore it and it will restore ur hole ipod and there will not be a passcode anymore

Restore

  • Note: Because Restore erases all of the songs and files on iPod, make sure to back up any files you've saved on the iPod disk. All of your songs, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and games can be loaded back to your iPod provided that you have them stored in your iTunes Library.

How to restore your iPod:
For Windows:
  • 1. Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes.
  • 2. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer.
  • 3. After a few moments, it will appear in the source list in iTunes.
  • 4. Select your iPod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
  • 5. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
    • Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
    • Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
    • Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
    • Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
  • 6. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.
  • 7. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
  • 8. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.

Someone told me that you get the plug ready into iTunes (DON NOT PLUG ITOUCH TO OTHER SIDE YET), hold down the home button, plug in iTouch, wait for Itunes logo to appear and when it does follow the steps they tell you. You MUST restore! Sorry, you might lose EVERYTHING.

Hi,

unfortunately you will have to restore your ipod. Just connect it to your computer, and within itunes select the restore option on the ipod page.

The ipod should be able to be restored by the computer that last synced it.

that is not a problem. Please follow the steps that i have listed below. If this does not work please let me know and i will advise you on what to do from here. If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device
(or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the
device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not
be present Follow the steps that i have outlined below. If this does not completely help your situation please
let me know and i will be glad to assist you. According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the IPod by doing the following: 1 If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage
its songs. . . Plug the iPod usb cable into the bottom of the iPod Nano. 2 Plug the other end of the iPod USB cable into a free USB port on a Mac or pc computer. 3 Open the iTunes application by clicking on the Dock icon on a Mac or using the Start menu on a PC. 4 Click on the name of your iPod Nano under the "Devices" list in the iTunes window. 5 Click on the "Sync" button to establish a connection between your iPod and the computer. 6 Click on the eject symbol next to your iPod's name after the syncing process has finished. 7 Unplug your iPod Nano. The device will be unlocked and you will be able to access all normal features
again. if that does not work you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note
that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod. If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated with, do this: 1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. 2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer. 3. Open iTunes and synchronize. Apple also notes that company "representatives cannot unlock an iPod if you forget your combination.
If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is

Help itunes unlock
I had a simalar problem ... plug it into the computer and hold down the off/on button and the home key for about 10 seconds and then leave go of the off/on button and continue to hold the home key until it says recovery mode on your computer.... it will delete everything off it but its the only way!!!
