I have a 32in Vizio LCD HDTV that I bought from Costco in 7/2006. The HDMI connection was working fine with HD cable & HD DVD player - up untill about a month ago. The RCA connnection/cables work with reg. TV, but HDMI connection doesnt work - we get a blue screen with sound. We're not getting true HD picture. We've taken the TV to an electronic repair shop & they've had it for 2 1/2 weeks. They at 1st told me the I/O board was defective...and had to order a new part. The received new part on Monday & TV was still having HDMI issues...they replaced it with another I/O board & same issue was still ocurring. Now they've told me that they've contacted Vizio & Vizio research told them that my TV is an older model & they don't carry parts for it & refered electronics shop to 3rd party repair company - Repair Solutions. Electronics shop told me they are waiting a call back from Repair Solutions to see if TV needs special HDMI cables or a software upgrade. My question is has any one heard of the HDMI connection going out & should i think about getting a new HDTV since electronics shop is baffeled? Thanks
I recently had the same problem with my vizeo hdmi port # 1 going bad. Tried everything to fix and called vizeo. There solution for a master reset was turn off tv and unplug from the wall. then hold down the power button for 30 secs and let go. plug the tv back in and hold down the volume down and input select buttons down on side of the tv for 15 secs. release the buttons and turn the tv on after powering down all the components connectd to the tv. If this does not work they told me you need to have it sericed for a bad hdmi input. Hope this info helps anyone out there. It didn't work for me. Its a bummer cause the tv is well taken care of and only 18 months old. Best of luck to all others.
I read Jerimy_smith's response and thought it sounded pretty stupid. How could this possibly work? We tried it anyways. IT WORKED !!! Thanks for this brilliant, yet unbelievable, solution
With all these problem with the hdmi port. Vizio should recall to fix this problem. It is the best way to keep customers happy. Otherwise customers will switch brand and soon they will be closing their door forever.
I have the L32. Year 2006 model and had the HDMI problem and the above info worked and save me some $$$. Thank you for sharing....

THATS A SOFTWARE ISSUE , IF YOU CANT GET THE SOFTWARE UPGRADE LET ME KNOW
You have several options for connecting your DVD player to your GV42L FHDTV10A - HDMI,
Component, S-Video and Composite (AV) inputs. Based on your home theater configuration, you can
decide which option is the right one for you.
connected to the HDMI input of the VIZIO GV42L FHDTV10A for optimal results.
To maintain the display quality, use a VIZIO certified HDMI cable available up to 10 meters or less.
1. Turn off the power to the LCD HDTV and DVD player.
2. Connect a HDMI cable to the HDMI output of your DVD player and the other end to the HDMI
Input (white color area) at the rear of the LCD HDTV.
3. Turn on the power to the LCD HDTV and your DVD player.
4. Select HDMI using the INPUT button on the remote or side of the LCD HDTV, or directly by
pressing the HDMI button on the Remote Control.
a) If you are already using the HDMI 1 input for another component, or you do not want to use
the HDMI 1 input for the DVD player, you can connect the DVD player to the HDMI 2
connection.
b) Refer to your DVD player user manual for more information about the video output
requirements of the product.

I appear to have the same issue on my Vizio L32HDTV10A Serial Number ASLEABAG343341
I believe the HDMI connection
on the TV has gone bad. I've always used the HDMI cable as my primary
connection and recently lost the picture (still had audio, just now with a blue screen). I removed the HDMI cable and had
it checked on another HDMI setup (different TV and Cable Box). I also
verified that the cable box HDMI connection was working (again, by
using the box and cable with a different TV).
Thanks for any help.

I cant find any software downloads for the TV. Can you please point me in the right direction?
I have had this same problem with an Oliveia brand hdtv. I have test the box with a different t.v. and it worked. When I hooked up the t.v. with a different box it gets a purple picture with no audio. My t.v. works with other connections just not the hdmi. I believe the hdmi connection has gone out...and in the cases of no name brand t..v.'s such as vizio and oliveia, the cost to fix the problem is atleast half the cost of the t.v. With current hdtv prices, just buy a new t.v.
My vizio 32L shows a yellow tint in picture and the white lines are yellow when I use my HDMI cable. Regular cable works fine for my general cable tv. It just gets yellowish when I try to use the HDMI on my ps3, HDTV, and Blue ray. Anyone know what might be wrong?
I have a vizio L32 TV. The color on the picture turns yellowish and the white lines turn yellow when I use the HDMI port-cable. It does it with my ps3, hdtv, and blue ray. I can't figure out what is wrong? The port? Is there a software upgrade for my tv? When I use regular cable my picture is fine.
My HDMI connection on a Pioneer PDP43A5HD was cracked by the cable installation tech. Any ideas where I can get this repaired/how much it will cost? Original vendor is out of business. Thanks.
I have the same problem. I notice that the DTV (digital TV tuner) isn't working also (it use to). All analog and AV connects work fine.
Anyone find a fix for the HDMI & DTV problems?
