Model 47lg50-ug au8qlvm\r\nSerial no 809mxay41088 When switching to any of the connected inputs, the TV's image and sound flashes on/off. The TV remains powered up but the screen flashes on/off. I tried turning off the input and that stopped the flashing (of course, at that point the TV displays NO SIGNAL). I called customer service and they suggested unplugging the unit and pressing the power button for 45 seconds. This didn't correct the problem. The TV is almost 2 years old, therefore out of warranty.

The lights indicate what the issue is. Kind of like your check engine light in your car tells you something is wrong with the engine.

SOURCE: television will not turn after a 10 minute power outage

Depending on what made the power outage, your power supply might have got fried. It might be as simple as a few capacitors blowing or a little more serious. I would suggest taking it to a repair shop. A power supply replacement will run you about 200-250. If its just a few capacitors, should be around 100.

47LG50-UG. Why doesn't it work?

This is not a power supply regulator board problem. Fault to its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

How do you connect a vizio sound bar to the tv

plug in the power to each unit with the provided power adapters, turn the sound bar and subwoofer on, activate the wireless subwoofer link by pressing a button on the soundbar (or remote) and subwoofer, and connect an audio source to either the provided analog or digital audio inputs on the soundbar
Note: When using the Digital Optical input, set source device audio out to PCM

(you can hook to ur tv if it has a R/L audio output, or u can also connect it if your tv has a toslink style digital output. (most LCD and Plasma TV's have them.))

I recently connected a Panasonic DVD player to our 47lg50 LCD television using an S-video cable. I cannot get sound so am assuming I need another cable to connect to the audio out ports on both and dvd...

Yes, you are correct - S-video does not have provisions for audio - it is strictly video. To connect audio, you need two RCA cables, normally colored red and white, right and left respectively. Connect output to input from the source to the destination. The source is the DVD audio out and the destination is the TV audio in.

Switch our tv to souround sound

Surround sound will come from the speakers from your surround system. So if you have it connected through HDMI 1 select that option from the source button on the remote control. If you have it connected through Scart 1 then select AV1 from the source button. It also best to turn the volume from the TV to minimum so that the sound only comes from the surround speakers.
