Microwave turns on, but no heat or turntable movement

When you turn the microwave on, the fan comes on, the light turns on inside, but the turntable does not move, and it does not heat up. Any suggestions? Everything else on it works fine (timer, etc) just won't cook food. TURNS ON BUT WONT COOK, MOTOR NOT RUNNING, LIGHT WORKS, TIMER WORKS. PRESS TIME TO COOK, TIMER COUNTS DOWN BUT UNIT DOESNT RUN

When time set & it start running will just keep running & not heating. It has to be unplugged to turn it off. Turntable does turn.

The problem is that the magnatron is not getting power. Chance is that if could be a bolwn fuse inside the unit. If the fuse don't fix it then that leaves the charging diode, capacitor or the magnatron, or high voltage xformer of which without technical epertize I would not recomend attempting to replace. good luck

I bought-the oster microwave and like others it did not last long before it stop heating. I took (careful precaution!!) and (unplugged the the unit!!) to view the fuse which of course is the main problem why this microwave does not heat up. Everything else works well but the heating. But since I changed the fuse to something very close to the same amp of the actual fuse it did work fine next to nothing.

I did not find any problem other than the noheating. This should only be attempted by someone who is in fact has close knowledge of electricity. The process is safe (WITH THE CORRECT PRECAUTION!!).Ever since I replaced the fuse and found out that that was all it needed I have been using it for 8 mths. Note--I did take measures into my own hands which is not recommended by anyone. But it is the old-fashion way...

Mbbs 01 thermador micro oven: timer counts down, lights go on, but no heat, no fan and turntable does not turn. is it a fuse?

Key clue is table does not move---All microwaves with a table have a lever switch that is engaged when door closes--only can get at from inside the unit----it prevents the unit from operation if door not closed.

What happens from closing door a lot is the switch with a lever arm can come loose or even if snapped into a plastic holder break out of the holder.

IF this it is not too expensive a repair.

Whirlpool otr microwave

Once i opened up the microwave, I found that some kind of capacitor or something (had two wires going to it) had fell down on top of the fan. I had to rig the plastic mounting bracket and re-attach it to a panel inside. That took care of the rubbing noise. It turned out that some one had unplugged the wire that powered the turntable. That took care of that. it seems to work fine now. Steve

Microwave not heating up

Check the door switch, when it is faulty the oven will turn on but turntable, fan and magnetron wont operate.

Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts.

You can also order from MicrowaveSvc , they also provide parts.

Dacor dcm24s.light, fan, and control panel work but turntable and heat do not

Most likely the bottom door switch. Dacor units are built by Sharp and that switch is a very common problem. You'd either need to check the switch with an ohm meter or remove the cover of the switch to see if it's burned inside.

Microwave turns on, but no heat or turntable movement

Quite often this is due to a bad door switch. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP pad) is the primary cause of door switch failure, but it may also be a broken switch mount. I have a text file called "doorsw.txt" which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems, and a file called "safety.txt" which is of vital importance. It is at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 or at http://www3.sears.com
