Please check if you have installed a Lenovo Energy Management which can be found by clicking on START>ALL PROGRAMS>LENOVO>LENOVO ENERGY MANAGEMENT folder>LENOVO ENERGY MANAGEMENT, if you did use that to manage power options, that programs controls your power management and the Power Options on Control Panel is over-ridden by this program.

Ctrl + Alt then Shift and test. Remove other languages. Go to Control Panel > Regional and Language Options. In Languages tab, click details. Remove extra / other Installed service.

3 orange flashes means flat battery. If you have a faulty charger or charger socket on the laptop then the battery wont charge or power up with just the charger connected.

My G550 lenovo just started shutting Windows down after 5 minutes of inactivity on the keyboard. It doesn't go to sleep mode, just shuts Windows down? How can I stop that?

go control panel
then power options
then find on the tabs power scheme
then try putting the turned off hard disk (never)

Sir i could not get webcam driver for my lenovo 3000 n200 for window 7.. please help sir

you may need to activate webcam by pressing fn + esc (or check the key combination for webcam in user manuals)
also make sure your function keys working, if not re-install power management.

After upgrading to windows 7 home premium bit32 from vista home premium bit32 battery back up time has reduced to 50%. pl. suggest solution

The power management scheme might not be the same setting you have before you updated.
You can try to specify the the power management scheme to make the battery comsumes less energy.

sound like you may have a bad battery charge board but let us pray that it is a separate baord that plugs into the mother board

What happens if we press the novo option in lenovo laptop

Hi,

It is usually a short cut for Energy Cut.

You can press to shift between the power schemes namely High performance, Balanced, Power saver.

Quiet mode option is not there.

Turn off the notebook. If yours is an Ideapad or 3000 series, press the Novo button. If you're on Thinkpad, I think it's called the ThinkVantage button... basically, it's the button that works (when Windows is on) to change the power scheme (in Ideapad) or to access one-button solution (in ThinkPad).
