I have a Daewoo DHR-8115D DVD Recorder . When I record to HDD it works , but when I want to record to a dvd it wont . I cant even watch dvd movies which I have rented . Please assist !!

No,u can't copy Hollywood movies,it codes protected.U can use a computer with a program that design to decodes and able copy Hollywood movies.

It is quite a common problem. What I do in my shop is to open the unit, and replace the DVD writer (is the same as a standard PC one) with another IDE DVD writer. (any model will work, but I try keep LG with LG etc)
Once you replaced the drive all should be back to normal. (I also use LG dvd writers on Daewoo recorders)

Daewoo DVD Recorder/VCR combi (I believe the model number is DF-4100P it wont record on disc but it will on tape mode plus the drawer in the dvd wont open please can someone send me an answer of whats wrong with it thank you

menu--hdd playlist--ok -select recording--select play then scroll down to dubbing--ok --add or scroll down to start dub.

• When the region shows, press 0
• Press the SETUP button to exit

Go to the system information screen ("Setup" button, then right arrow to select the "i" icon)

Press 1101

You should see a new Region setting at the bottom of the list.

Press 0 to set the region to "free"
