After installing McAfee on my computer, it seems to lag. It is very annoying...starting up and shutting down can take a minute! WEb browsing began to lag too? Is the antivirus to be blamed? My computer is a Pentium 4 2GHz running on windows XP, that still has a good amount of disk space left

Slow start up, cpu 100%

Check your anti virus, I recommend installing Malwarebytes, then Superantispyware and then Avast. Be carefull installing these as they install by default Googles chrome, I remove the check mark! Forget Norton and McAfee. These 3 are free, make sure you never UPGRADE, just update. If you Upgrade you will have to $$ and you don't need the extras when running all these 3. Make sure in Avast settings you may have to shut down and keep off Web Sheild as on some older PC's it slows it down alot. Click Internet Options and manage what add ons are running. You may be surprised at how many have been installed by the computers oem or by you by mistake when you download and install things.

Hi, I have a new Toshiba Satelite L500 laptop. From the moment I started to work with it, following message began to appear: Warning: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off...

first you should install an independent system temperature monitor like speed fan and check if your computer temperature is ok .If the temp is ok then it is not as much of a worry but more of an annoyance if it shows the computer is hot take it back to service immediately either way they should fix the problem under warranty.
I hope this helps Andrew A

You should get Revo uninstaller. It's free and through. Check on that McAfee and I'm not sure about Zone Alarm, but Ihear two AV programs will conflict with each other. Good luck.

Windows vista os conflict with element gc-920/940

After hours of messing with the dumb thing. the mini disc kept jumping around in my cd rom so placed a very small piece of tape on it (highly not recomended) to help hold it in place while the cd rom read the disk. then i copied the disk into a file and clicked on the install app mp3 player utilities 4.18 and it began to install. then after looking it over. i shut down my computer. while it was shut down i plugged in the mp3 player and started up my computer. after i ;ogged on, windows asked if i wanted to search and install the driver i clicked install. when it couldn't find the driver in updates it asked if i had a diskor do i want to browse my computer. i clicked on browse searched for the mp3 player utilities 4.18 highlted it and clicked ok and it began to install and stopped half way through. and said there was an error and a part was missing. although i noticed a new drive with an asian name and there it was. i right clicked then clicked properties and gave it a new name. it worked! what a stupid process. i don't know for sure but i think it would work with any older version of windows just not vista.
thanks dennis

I cannot install my Phillips web cam. It says there are compatibility issue, with McAfee.

What else is new?  Tell McAfee to go chill and shut down and nevermind about leaving you unprotected, and install the Philips web cam, which will then go fine.
McAffee is a spaz.  But you can reactivate it once the Philips is installed and running (not that it won't come on once you've rebooted anyhow.)
