My Microsoft Lifechat LX - 3000 headset sound does not work normally. I think the problem is that when I first got the headset, the instillation process did not work correctly. I can not hear with the headset on the internet, as well as other programs that don't have a custom sound option to where I can change the sound to be Microsoft Lifechat LX - 3000. I've tried putting in the instillation disk, but it tells me an unexpected error has occurred and I can't install it. Please tell me how I can get my headset sound to work for everywhere.

With the infamous Vista, try:
Start --> Control panel --> Hardware and sound --> Sound --> Audio devices admin [I have a Spanish OS, I hope it is the same in the English version], then assign as default device the headset.

With Skype and other sw, you have to specifically pick the lx-3000 as the device that will be used as audio device (and the same has to be done to use the mic).

Pretty cumbersome....

Hi,
I bought the headset recently and on first plug-in --- nothing! But then I realized that I had to open Sound in System Preferences and select them as the output choice. Works fine, though I haven't had a chance to test it out fully. But it works!
