Mine's doing the same thing, and no there is no error code indication. Just simply no green light when trying to take a photo. Nothing at all.

My d5000 wont tranfer pics to camera. bought new computer cord for camera and still wont work

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa or Nikon Transfer.

I recently bought the vivitar 7024 and bought an sd card lexar multi use 4 gb. For some reason when I take photos and try to look at the pics it says no file exist. But when I take the sd card out and I...

Apparently, you have pics on the camera's internal memory. Your card won't work until those pics are gone. Here's how...with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card and it should work.

My micro sd memory has snapped at the teeth and t memory card is quite badly damaged do i have any chance of recovering my photos?

There are some digital photo recovery companies that can retrieve your pics. Depending on how many pics are on the card and how badly damaged it is, they charge between $100 to $500 dollars.

I need to recover deleted pics

I have had success with this... Download Asoftech Photo Recovery program
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Pics exist but may be damaged

First of all, recover lost files from memory card
1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect memory card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download best photo recovery software from here
this asoftech photo recovery program help me before, works quite well and it's easy to use
4. Install and open asoftech photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your photos.

After you get back your photos, you can format the memory card to fix the problem.

Picture Transfer issues

Delete the pics off your memory card.

Transferring them to a CD is only copying them, not deleting them off the card, so at this stage, the card is still full.

If you have a card reader, insert the card and format it.

This will delete everything on the card, making it ready for use again.

If not, follow the directctions for your camera to delete/re-format a card in the camera.

Hope this helps,
