Not able to configure my router

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

I have a d-link router. i can connect to my

The wireless card is configured for your D-Link at home.
You need to configure your laptop's wireless card for the wireless settings at work too (ie the SSID and encryption etc.). Contact the network manager at your work for the wireless configuration so you can configure the wireless card with these settings.
It maybe possible to setup different profiles on the laptop's wireless card, one for home and one for work so you can just click on the correct profile depending on your home or work location.

Cannot connect d link 1310 to imac

ignore the cd, temporarily,
try to connect to the router via its web interface at http://192.168.0.1
the wizards and helpscreens on the router if you can reach it are very good
the default admin name is admin password blank
which the wizards ask you to change once you get started.

For guest, check the settings on the macbook,
it may be configured to always ask for password,
a blank password may be valid
it may be configured to login to a domain, which it cannot find
