My dryer wont start! I turned the breaker on and off and still it wont come on. The light in the inside wont come on either. Im trying to locate the fuse box to check the fuse ~ HELP!!! :)

there is a sensor located beneath the lint filter, more the likely the dryer sheet residue is on it, gently brush it off, it has two screws. As far as the loud thud noise is/may be a problem with the drum/rollers/glides/belt/idler arm/motor Here is a website that will assist you, once the filter light goes off and the drum will not turn.Good Luck Tim

Try turning the circuit breaker off, and back on again. They sometimes appear to not be tripped when they are. Then we'll go from there if that is not it.

Try and flip the breaker to off again and push lightly then on , when a breaker trips somtimes just flipping it on it wont catch a latch inside the breaker to actually flip it on.

Check the house electrical panel dryer circuit breaker pair--push off, then on. Try the dryer again. If still nothing, measure the voltage across the two slanted slots in the dryer power socket. It should measure: ~230 volts AC. If at or near zero, either one of the breaker pair is defective, or a wire is open from the breaker to the socket. If you read ~230 volts, then the problem is within the dryer--motor runs, but drum doesn't turn (broken belt), or motor doesn't run (bad controller, motor, door switch, start switch. Does the unit get hot? Need more help on your end.

Im going out on a limb here and say ... the breaker popped - your light exploded ... it will not start. You took a big surge hit and probably smoked the timer.

Unplug the machine - remove the back or the top to gain access to the wiring. With your volt/ohm meter start checking contunity particularly with the timer. The timer is only a switch, you know this right? When you are satisfied with your contunity checks, plug it in and scheck for voltages.

First, go to your circuit panel and turn off then back on the dryer breaker.Second, check for a broken belt. The belt switch will be open if the belt is broken and the dryer will not start. Next.Replace the thermal fuse located on the top right of the heater canister located in the inside rear of the dryer.

We are having the same problem. We have the Neptune dryer MDE5500AYZ. The control panel doesn't come on. We know it's getting electricity as the light in the dryer is on. Is there a reset button in the dryer?
