We have a 416DC that was working fine until this error code came up ... "Call For Service". I was able to find out that it was a "CA1" error code. We followed your instructions about 0-8, enter 400, etc. but they did not work. You then mentioned something about perrforming the following checks, but I did not see them listed. Most likely the laser has failed and needs replaced. Here is the documentation.
CA1 Indicates that the polygon motor in the ROS has failed.

For this problem, the software has to be the latest version.
A Xerox Service rep can solve this problem.
The problem is the timing on the scaner is not right, the software can correct it.
The right main board needs to be compatible with the software.
Changing the Ros is not the total solution. This problem can come back even when changing the Ros. Also, the right part(The Ros) needs to be installed on the right model machine.
