Samsung DLP Check Fan #3

We are getting an error message "Check Fan No. 3"... What does this mean, and how do you fix it?

    Same problem today. Flashes check fan # 3. The green light is flashing red and green.

    Printed message in red letters that say "check fan #3" after a few minutes the tv turns itsself off.

    where is fan #3 ?

    Message appears on the screen saying "check fan #3" in red print.

    After the fan #3 message the set will turn its self off.



    Our set is very slow in booting up, with a lot of snapping noises when it is turned off.

    Where is fan #3 ?

    Fan # 3 message..  We have a big fire going in the fire place..  Going to try leaving the tele turned off for a while until the room returns to normal temp..  Hopefully nothing in the tele is damaged.  :-(

Fan #3 is the LED PCB fan to the back right as you look at the back of the set. You'll have to completely pull the tray out (not hard) and the fan is right there in the open to the right behind fan #2 (the larger fan).

Just replaced fan 3 on hln467wx lookin in the back 1 on the right blows into big fan towards bulb easy to replace

Where is "fan #2" in Samsung dlp hl-r5656w?
I don't know which is fan #2 but if you take the back off, you will see one fan right in front of you. The other is harder to get to. It's the black box inside the silver covering with the holes (in left lower part).

My TV was acting up by having only one color showing until I let it cool down then it would work fine. I cut a hole in the plastic back cover and mounted a bigger computer fan. Just spliced it in the wires of the little fan. Fixed the problem

Samsung hl-s4666w DLP "Check Fan #2" on-screen message appears before shutting off. How do I fix this?
Look at the Large Lamp fan and if it is not rotating it is bad and needs to be replaced. If is ok then check the other two smaller fans. You do have a bad fan.

My Samsung 50'' DLP msg "Check Fan No. 3"
You can attempt to remove the back cover, but there is a very delicate mirror in the back. I'd just move it away from the wall, used compressed air to clean out the fans, and put everything back together. Just make sure you don't damage the color wheel or light engine.

Defective Lamp,maybe and Ballast Board may well be the problem it is what turns Lamp on Look on line Encompass Parts Dist 1-800-638-3328 Ballast Board also has small fan mounted in front of it!

Samsung 50" DLP TV
Since the lamp generates a lot of heat, the fans are continuously monitored for correct function. The owner's manual should show you the location of the fans. Make sure that the grills covering the fans are clear of dust and that the fans are clean. Sometimes dirt can cause the fan blades to slow down enough to trigger the safety alert.
