D830 BIOS admin password

In the future this might help:

BIOS passwords can be reset or removed in two ways:

1. using software 2. using hardware.

I would first try resetting or removing using software, here are two software apps to reset or retrieve BIOS passwords.

!BIOS - is a PC BIOS toolkit offering password removal/decrypt and BIOS settings modification/backup/restore.
You can download it here:
http://www.syschat.com/download120.html&act=down

CmosPwd - Cmos password recovery tools
http://majorgeeks.com/CmosPwd_d239.html

You will need to create a bootable Dos, or Linux or NT cd in order to run them.

Good Luck!

How to flash bios in a dell latitude d830

The other suggestions were how to clear BIOS passwords... but your question was how to flash the bios.

If, indeed, you were asking how to flash the bios, navigate to http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/latitude-d830 and download the BIOS executable. Run it like a standard application, and it will force a reboot, update the BIOS, then reboot again. When everything is completed, your BIOS will have been updated.

How do i reset my bios password

I am afraid that such kind off issues could only be solved by motherboard replacement, unless you can contact Dell support with a proof of ownership of this notebook.

There is also this service which can help you crack the BIOS password:

Bios info on hard drive

The BIOS password is not stored in the hard drive.
Try Dell as the password first.
The BIOS password could be stored in the BIOS chip or an an EEPROM chip.
If the password is stored in the BIOS chip, you can restore the BIOS back to the default setting and remove the password by removing the BIOS battery for 1/2 + hour, insert the battery and go into the BIOS configuration to set the Date & Time.
If the password is stored on the EEPROM chip, there are no backdoor passwords available.

Dell latitude d820 can't get intothe bios set up screen

The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory which is attached to the motherboard. If you remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine.

Hope you find this information usefull.
your feedback is appreciated.
