HORIZONTAL STRIPES ON PICTURE

Hi!
Turn on the camera
Pull the lens at maximum zoom
Turn off the flash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shoot the picture - look into the lens.

If no motion picture shutters in the lens:
1. Faulty flex cable shutter
2. Faulty valve solenoids
etc.
Requires repair of the shutter assembly in the lens

If you saw the shutter and blurry pictures as paint - matrix defective - Replace the camera matrix.

I cannot seem to get a clear picture with my camera. The color is off and it looks blurry sometimes. What am I doing wrong?

Thee pictures are blurry most likely because you are shaking the camera as you are taking the picture. To help eliminate this lean against something solid, use the viewfinder instead of the LCD screen or mount the camera to a tripod. The colour could be from not selecting the proper white balance for the scene you are shooting. Look in you manual and see if you have an "auto" white balance and set the camera to that.

Is there any way I can clear up a blurry picture on this camera once the pic is already taken?

On TV shows, they can take a blurry picture and enhance it to crystal clarity. In real life, however, those kinds of miracles aren't possible. In a photo editing program like Photoshop Elements, you can bring up the sharpness a little but you eventually reach a point where the picture no longer looks like a normal picture. The slogan is "garbage in...garbage out"...meaning you can only do so much to what you have to work with.

When taking pictures they come out blurrie i try

Turn on your flash! Even in good lighting, shoot with the flash on. This will make your exposure shorter, and there will be less opportunity for movement of the camera or the subject to blur the photo.

This camera should still be under warranty, so if it's not focussing correctly then let Sony fix it. Before doing so, check that you haven't accidentally left the camera set to macro (close-up focussing) mode.

Pictures are not sharp

On most camers that means you are going to get a blurry photo because of camera shake. Using the flash should take care of it. You may have the flash set to "flash off" mode accidently, and in insufficient light the shutter speed is too slow to stop blur.

Blurry pictures and viewer

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Canon sd900

Try a higher ISO speed (suggest 400). Look in your camera's instruction book to find out how to do this.
