Resister I need to replace the resister in my rice cooker. The resister is near the switch. It seems to control the machine. Does anyone know what to purchase at a electrical component store.

    I had lost the resister long before.I was actually headed to buy one at a store. When it fell out of my pocket. in my drive way.

    Isearched for hours but never found it.

    I was hoping somebody had to replace theres and knew what it was. Thanks for your advise.

what you need is a thermal fuse. The markings on the fuse are as follows:
SEFUSE
169E
172 degrees C
10A
C0280

If you find a replacement, let me know where you got it because I need one too, and can't find any!

Hi, how did you get on with identifying markings. It is more likely to be a thermal fuse, but if you can get me the markings, I can tell you what to get.

I just bought a rice cooker at a garage sale. It had no instruction manual
To make rice, remove the trivet if you have one as this is only for steaming food.

Wash rice to get rid of excess starch and put in pan. Then add the same amount of water as rice (2 cups water to 2 cups rice etc.) then shut lid and switch on and leave it.
Once it has switched off do not open the lid for a further 20 minutes (the machine will keep the rice warm do not worry) Stir rice and serve. Most rice cookers will keep the rice warm for a couple of hours.

If you find the rice is a bit dry then add a little bit more water, the amount of water really depends on the quality of rice used.

I have s Sanyo ECJ-S35S rice cooker does not heat up. When I press Start/Cook button it keep flashing and light does not stay on. Any idea what I can do?
A rice cooker that doesn't cook anymore usually requires a thermal cutoff replaced. They act like a fuse and look like a resister. Look underneath it is crimped to one of the leads but perhaps underneath some braided insulation. Purchase another cutoff at an electronics components store (not radioshack). If there is not a rating on it try 185 degrees celcius.

open the bottom side of your unit.. then check the resistance of thermal fuse, it's look like resistor which is connected to line wire, usually covered by insulator..

MY RD5081 RICE COOKER ONLY WILL JUST WARM RICE, WON'T COOK.
The preassure switch may be not working right.
It may be corroded, etc.
