Have you tried pressing the pairing button at the back of the camera unit and press the scroll button at the center of the receiveing monitor at the same time as suggested by the manual? I had the same problem, followed the manual instructions and solved it. (Greetings from Mexicali, M
This worked! The battery died on the monitor and, when we plugged it back in, suddenly "out of range" was all that the monitor would say. As suggested here, I found the manual and followed the "pairing" instructions, and it worked again. What a relief, since this is not a cheap item! Here are the instructions, in case anyone's lost them (abbreviated a little):
1) Move camera and monitor near each other. With monitor on, press the menu button on front of the monitor and scroll down to "add/del camera."
2) At the same time with the camera on, press the "pairing" button on the back (I'd call it the top) of the camera.
3) You should then see a picture from the camera on the monitor. (I think I had to hold down the pairing button, and go through to "add a camera.") And there was the picture again!
worked great thank you I could not find my manual

That happens to me sometimes... I have the online instructions saved so I copied this off it for you:
Pairing Monitor and CAMERA:
The Monitor and CAMERA are paired at the factory for privacy reasons. If the Monitor and CAMERA are not paired with each other for any reason, please pair them as described below.
Step 1: Move the Monitor to the same area as the CAMERA. With the Monitor on, press the Menu button on front of Monitor and using the Scroll button move down to the "ADD/DEL CAM" option. Press the Scroll button to select "ADD/CAMERA".
Step 2: At the same time press and hold the scroll button on the monitor and the pairing button on the CAMERA for at least 5 seconds. Then release.
Step 3: You should then see a picture from the CAMERA on the Monitor.
Step 4: If this is unsuccessful, you will see the message "OUT OF RANGE" on the Monitor screen and should repeat steps above making sure the CAMERA and Monitor are close enough to each other for pairing.
