Acer Aspire 5100-3825 Laptop Computer (LX.AX90X.009 75) PC Notebook Logo

Have a new Acer Aspire 5517, when I move the computer more than 7-10' from the router the signal goes from Execellent to poor/lost connection. 5 other computers on this Verizon Fios network run great with no connectivity issues. Acer says it's a software issue and verizon says they have problems with Acer. Someone must know how to resolve this compatability issue?

Take both excuses out of the equation. Buy a wireless N dongle off ebay (you can pick them up dirt cheap).

Router would pick up dongle using it's own software (Acer's excuse) and would not know or care the make of notebook (verizon's excuse)

Acer aspire notebook 5517 screen goes dark randomly

Sounds like either a loose connection where the screen cable connects to the motherboard or that the screen is on the way out. Re-seat the monitor ribbon on to the motherboard.

Check the signal strength to the ACER, if it is weak then move the wireless router to a location away from brick and concrete walls and or move it to a higher location.

I have the acer 8.9 inch with a built intnet wireless care. The one that connectst to the internet throutht the air waves Just as if it needs no router or modem, but i cannot connect. What do i do

It does need a Router and Modem. Every computer does. Even if you bought the new Verizon mini pc, it needs the towers signal since that is the router. Wireless just means that you don't have to drag a wire from the computer to the router. You need a wireless router that will attach to the modem for this to work. Otherwise the signal from the computer just goes into the air into nowhere. If you go to stores that have "hot spots" or "wifi" and use your computer, that just means that they have a router that you're signal is hooking up to.

Wifi range problem on Acer Aspire 5100 notebook

Move the router away from the computer, like on the top shelf of the desk, and away from any cordless phones and other devices.
Try moving the antenna as well, choose a diffrent channel like 11 instead of default 6.
It sounds like you are getting some stron RF interference from one of the devices near the router.
I hope this helps resolve your issue.
Good Luck.
