1. Before upgrading to windows 7, you must check the specification of your acer aspire 5315.
2. Windows 7 is better than windows vista but if you are really wanted those acer programs to work. You have to downgrade your operating system from your previous operating system.
i personally would say no anymore i would reccomend at least 2gigs of flash memory for any operating system but the best place for you to get your answer for this would be from the windows site it self
More memory will make a difference. Vista is a memory hog and 512 is really not enough. You don't say what version of Vista you have but Microsoft say the min spec for Home Basic is 512MB, other flavours 1GB. Gety as much in as your mainboard will support - 2GB would be my minimum..
A Celeron 1.6 processor isn't going to be that fast if you are running a lot of apps and not much you can do about that (pretty unlikely you can upgrade; very few laptop mainboards let you).
There are a few tweaks you can make that may help but you (defrag, set Windows to better performance rather than better display, format and re-install) but stick some more memory in and see how you go.
you might need to upgrade you hardware in your computer so that you computer can handle vista you have to have atleast one gb of ram for it to even try to boot up
Acer gives you the option to create your own cd's. Click the start button & go to all programs. Look through the programs installed. Someting like DVD pro. or nero. There is a program in there so you can creat your own set of restore cd's. The reason your PC is so slow is because Acer loaded the system up with a ton a junk you'll never use. (Can always return it). I would befor the warranty runs out.........
