Chip- my belt is right below, touching the fan/blade. Should it be running under that, basically a belt width below? I can't engage my tractor.
The brake is stuck on. Happened once before and I was able to force I back up. This time is won't come back up.

Check to make sure the belt that runs from the engine pulley back to the transaxle is on all the pulleys.If it is a hydrostatic transaxle make sure the free wheel control lever at the back of the tractor is in correct position, or the brake plate may be stuck on but that would make a loud grinding sound.If it is a gear drive make sure the transaxle pulley is turning and make sure you didn't lose a rear wheel key from the axle,(if you had the tire off for a repair it is easy to lose the key when you go to put the tire back on.

Under the mower below the seat of the rider, at the rear of the tractor, look up and you will find the transmission there. There is a belt that runs on the pulley under there, and this belt can slip off when it gets worn or stretched. Sort of a tough spot to get to but, that is most probably cause.

Make sure the stitch selector is not set on buttonhole. If the machine has set up for a long time not being used it may be that the stitch length is stuck in reverse.
