Can you see a picture at all or is it completely bright red? Is there sound?

If still under guarantee take it back.
If not this sounds like a workshop job. If more than five years old (the TV, not you!) and you can afford it, junk this set and get a new one.

Sounds like your tube is out. To fix it would cost more than the TV. Try to unplug it overnight and try agian. Post again when you try that and we can try something else.

55" rca projection tv turns on has sound but no picture

This is waht is known as vision on sound.
Sharp bright edges on the picture such as seen on cartoons, generates high frequency interference which is picked by the sound channel. That is why you get louder infererence when the picture is brighter. There are filters built in to the sound circuits to reduce this. Intensity of the problem depends on the quality of the design.
You could try reducing the contrast level some time called "picture" or if you have a sharpness control reduce sharpness.

Humming sound no picture

Its the color wheel assy. Its changing speed due to worn bearings. You may also hear a hum coming from the rear of the TV. Seek an RCA authorized service center to resolve this.

is it snow on screen? if so tuner  problems. rca had recall on tuners on some models bad solder connections in tuner

install your cellphones with tv remote.. download that from www.mobile9.com.. you can use that to remote you TV.. depends on your cellphones..
