My GE 27996ge3 cordless phones is answering my messages in spanish. I do not know how to turn it back to english. I do not understand spanish.
I think I found a solution. On my phone model 27996GE3-A, I unplugged the phone for a few seconds, plugged it back in and waited until the display showed the number of messages and then I pressed the "skip" and "review" buttons at the same time and then it announced the the language changed to english. Hope this helps.

You might try going to unidendirect.com, scroll down to "customer service" and click there. a FAQ list comes up. #8 is remote access messages, maybe your other issue would be answered as well.

What worked for me was to call my phone and leave a voicemail. I then retrieved and deleted my voicemail which reset my handsets.

when the phone is in standby, press and hold cid/menu.press down arrow to move to language,press select to choose english,etc.when display shows language you want, use up/down arrows to move to another menu item,or press end to return to standby.

Yes, I am having the same issue. It was in the english format and I was trying to perform another function on the phone while pressing the buttons and then the language format got changed. I no longer have the manual and can't change it back. There is nothing else wrong with the phone and I would hate to have to buy another phone just for this. Help!!!
