Mine's a TomTom One XL with Western Europe pre-installed. Having backedup using Home 2, I restored using Home 2 & now the minor roads(residential roads, eg - mine) don't show - so I get the Error DuringPlanning message. It's starting to seem like a map corruption, but asit's a pre-installed map I wouldn't know how to get it back... Any ideas? Are you aware of a problem where the residential road detail is lost?

You need to use a thrird pary software package called Tyre whic is free to downlaod and use. It's seems to work quite well.

you may have run out of memory for the full map, your device can use a 2Gb max SDcard which should be enough for all your maps. It will have put placeholder there and tryed to drop the full map but you can only see the bit it could store to the memory.
SOURCE: need an activation code for a western europe map
give me you produt ID and I send you the code.
SOURCE: Activation code Western Europe v660.1256
The activation code for the unit and map details supplied is
T2JT3 HX6ZC GBYQG
This code will only work on this unit.
If you have a different unit or v6 map, submit the details and I will help if i can

Many thanks - I really hadn't expected such a quick response - especially on a Sunday!
My TomTom (bought less than one month ago) did come with a disc but only for the manual, a few voices etc. The total on disc is about 230Meg - the WE map alone is over 900Meg.
I noticed today a warning on the TomTom site that data might not transfer properly if (the device?) is connected via a hub - and that you should quit any virus software.

Not sure how I'll find the 'on-line copy' but I'll give it a try.
Many thanks once again for such a swift response.

i have installed a 2gb card and all the software is on it Tom Tom havent been able to help
I should imagine you're looking for TomTom Western and Central Europe map version 720 build 1803 or something like that - I expect that's the version you have. I would expect a Google search would bring some help.
This is neither a clarification request nor a solution - but there are only two options available in the reply 'Post a' drop-down box.
I agree with you that the most likely cause of the problem is a corruption in the mapping data. When I purchased my TomTom I was supplied withe a copy of the maps on a CD. This is what I used to restore the corrupted map data. If your unit did not come with the CD, I'm not sure how TomTom expects you to find a foolproof way of restoring the files. As yours is a perfectly legal satnav, I'd have no qualms about searching the net for an on-line copy. There are plenty of sites with the information, but Terms of Use prevent me from giving their address.
