Are you sure its not WH-303? If so, this is a very old Dual band (X and K bands only) radar detector. Manuals are no longer available for them. You can trade it in for a new model, Email, [email protected] and ask for a trade in form.

I would probably say vg2 no, spectre yes. This unit is decent, in fact i really like the 1-9 and how accurate it is with the proximity. I have a $450 detector that is horrible at judging the distance to the source of the radar. Anyway it has been my observation that this unit irritates other detectors more so than others, which is a sign of a leaky detector. Also if it detects pop, i noticed that the pop is always on, and the falses on pop are very minimal compared to other units..

The speaker's voice coil likely has overheated, and now it is rubbing on the insides of the speaker magnet. This causes very garbled sound. All Sunkyong Early Warning radar detectors provide horrible radar detection performance. You should seriously consider getting a much better radar detector.

I suggest that you don't use this product. US designed and manufactured RD models have well over 10 times the detection range, and the unbelievably cheap Early Warning RD will merely give you a false sense of security -- followed soon after by a speeding ticket if you frequently speed. This is because the Sunkyong Early Warning radar detector is an absolute piece of junk in terms of actual radar detection performance. It performance is dismal compared to any product manufactured by Bel, Escort, Whistler's higher end products, or Valentine Research. Let me guess -- you bought your Early Warning RD off of eBay.

I once owned a PNI Radar detector with a compass feature. Mine had to be calibrated by actually driving in clockwise and then counter-clockwise circled (three times each if I recall correctly. Check your manual for a similiar procedure. If you can find one, pick up a Uniden GPSRD unit. These work off the Defense Department's satellites and never need any calibration. They also track your speed from space and displays it on the detector. You can also mark locations,and get latitude/longitude information whenever you need it as well as directions to anywhere in the US. VERY COOL DEVICE! So cool, I bought one for each vehicle... however one was recently stolen.:( Hope this information helps you out.
