The Bose Companion 3 speaker series II died when plugged into my wall outlet. It made a brief squel and then died. The LED on the volume control does not light any more and it does not seem to turn on at all. The power cables are not damaged. Any idea's what are causing this would be awesome. I am a Micro-minature repair tech so I should be able to complete most small repairs, like replacing some diodes or caps if thats the cause.

SOURCE: Bose Companion II Computer Speaker: The AC power adapter burnt

My puppy chewed through the cord for my a/c adapter, I just took the speakers into Circuit City, and they found me a workable replacement (the replacement isn't BOSE, but it works just fine).  Hope that helps!

How do i hook-up a bose companion 3 series II system to an hdtv?

What type of connections does your tv have, hdmi, component? Match up the connection from the bose series 3 to your hdtv. I don't want to assume that your tv has hdmi, which would provide the best signal throughput & quality.

I have the Bose Companion 3 Series II speakers. I ordered them through the Bose website. However, I continuously hear static. Mute, low volume, with music, etc. I hear static noise. The only way to...

Hello,

I have had totally the same problem before, and I have discovered that it is actually because of the electric current running through the speakers when the volume is low or muted.

I am afraid to tell you that the only solution to this problem is to raise the volume, as it is not a malfunction in the speakers but in the electric current running through them.

Good luck.

Bose Companion 3 Series II not working (Mac)

The speakers seem to be muted by default - you'll see that the LED is yellow/amber. Tap the control pod - the LED will turn green and speakers will work. I felt like such an idiot after I spent almost an hour trying to figure this out. (This feature should be more prominent in the manual.)
