I have a 50" samsung plasma that was working fine now the volume just dissapeared & when i try to adjust the volume it shows the normal volume display with headphone icon in the display & when i put something into the headphone socket like headphones the volume comes onto the tv & the headphone icon dissapeares drom the display & it all returns to normal although there is no sound coming through the headphones they just enable the volume on the tv ... if i push the headphone jack halfway in it does make sound in stereo through the headphones its all mad lol any help would be greatly appreciated i did read that someone else had a similar problem & they unsoldered the H/P jack socket a bit drastick but any other solutions would be great thanks in advance

You would need to replace the headphone socket then and if I am correct it should be mounted to a plug in board. I first need the model number of your Samsung to look up the part number. The model will be on a sticker on the side and will be something like HTP50***/XAA or something like that.

I apologize but I only have access to the USA Samsung website for parts. You may be able to just unplug the board that the headphone jack is on for now.

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be on a separate board, or on the part of its main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

If Vs & Va voltages will differ to an extent, this type of fault can occur to Plasma TVs. The adjustment to these voltages are possible, and the adjustments presets are there at the power regulator board. Please contact any service technician before replace the power board. Even though you replace this board, you have to adjust the above said voltages after fitting the new power board too.

In the menu, there should be an option for AUTO VOLUME, see what this is set at, change it and see if it works. Also there is another option for INTERNAL MUTE, though I still haven't found out what it's for, myself. Give both a go. If neither of these work, try looking at the support pages on the Samsung website. Other than that, I can only suggest you take it back to where you purchased it, and ask for an exchange.
