LX2 Switch on, lens extends, screen lights up, doesn't zoom, button operates 1/2 and full , then nothing. I have two batteries-both OK

Camera opens and closes and lens extends and closes fine. Depressing button gives no result, no image and lens does not zoom. Digital "shutter" not working is problem...I think. NOT a sand dust problem

Not just a problem re zooming ....Digital "shutter "not operating...does not give an image when button depressed

Maybe it is in a strange mode...so my option will be to go to the main menu into the shoot mode...and search for camera reset or ..reset to factory ..and engage it ..this should reset it to the factory settings and remove any strange modes that might cause the problem ..*** long as it opens and extends the lens it is just a matter of setting ..The menu is not that easy to follow ..but if you have patience you will get to that feature..I think it will be in the setting ..

Have you taken the camera outdoor lately? This problem is most probably caused by a grit of sand or dust build up between the camera's base and the lens' barrel, hence it wont retract and the camera malfunctions. What you do is to hold the camera with your right hand with its lens facing the ground. Then tap the camera's base to your left palm as you push the ON button of the camera with the intention of removing that grit out of the len's barrel. You might have to do this several times.

My fujifilm s1000 keeps showing "zoom error." I don't know what happend. It's like one day it's working, the next not. I have a family member graduating Friday and can't afford a new camera. I've taken out...

Hi.

If you try turning on the camera with the lens cap on, you may get zoom error. Ensure that you are removing the lens cap before turning on the camera.

If the autofocus ring is held while taking the picture, or operating the lens this will also cause the Zoom error message coming up.

If that is not the problem, then the lens has troubles extending. This may happen because of dust stuck in lens mechanism, or because of a mechanical fault concerning the lens.
Any cause preventing lens from full extention or retraction will trigger zoom error.

Here a basic manual in PDF format.

Here Owners manual.

I need a manual for AF 35-70mm f2.8 D zoom nikkor - no idea how to use this lens.

i was not able to find a manual - this review may help http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/3570.htm
The lens consists of
  1. Zoom
  2. Focus
  3. Aperture
  4. Macro
1) Zoom - this is by push pull - so you push the lens out to wide angle 2) To switch to manual focus - will need to be done on the camera and then you can use the front control ring to focus - 4) also you can use the button to switch to macro mode - BUT only with the Zoom at 35mm - lens fully extended 3) You have an aperture range of 2.8 - 22 this varies the amount of light allowed into the lens - 2.8 is the most light - F4 to F5.6 to F8 - each change halfs the light allowed in - so changing from F4 to F5.6 half the light

Zoom lens won't retract on fujifilm f410

Hi,

This indicate that there will be some problem with your camera Lens. Try to follow these steps to resolve the issue:-

1) Switch the camera OFF and then ON again. (May be your camera lens is struggling to extend)
2) Load new or fully charged batteries.

Else your device need service (repair)

Rating the solution is highly appreciated....Good Luck

My dmc Lz8 continually zooms in and out and then goes blank.

Same problem, lens cycles in and out then says 'turn off and back on again'. I fixed by grabbing the lens as is comes out and pulling and wiggling to help it to it's full out position. Don't force it, but help it reach full out. It took a couple of times, but now seems ok. Suspect a grain of sand or dust was preventing it from reaching full extend.

Zoom error

I had sent my camera in for the same issue and they did nothing to help with it. Seems to happen when battery gets low or dies, lack of on-screen battery meter doesn't help. Typically have to manually twist the lens to close it or open it after fresh batteries installed and then seem to fix it.

ZOOM ERROR

I used to get that error all the time with a earlier Fuji FinePix with the slide-over lens cover. If the cover wasn't pushed back completely, the lens would extend only so far and then give an error. Make sure that there's nothing (dirt, hair) on any of the lens surfaces and make sure the lens is fully extending when you do turn the zoom on. Don't let anything touch or bump the zoom while it's moving, either.
Not sure if this will help, since you have a different model. This is what worked for me, though.

Zoom

It looks like a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended) Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse
