I own a Magic Chef model YG225LV and the drum stopped spinning. Looks like I need to disconnect the vent and gas lines and open it in back to get to the belt for replacement. Can you confirm that?

Yes, on most dryers that is correct...
There can be many reasons why your dryer will not start or turn...

The most common causes are the belt breaking or jumping off, or the motor going bad...

Hello Chris Huff ,

MY very first recommendation would be to
disconnect the power... and the air vent at
the machine.

Carefully run your hand into the machine and feel for any BLOCKAGE... lint, missing socks, snakes, hamsters ... (etc.).

If the VENT is CLEAR try running the machine with a SMALL LOAD to see if you are getting past that "10 mins" you
described ...

** (supervised operation with door or window OPEN).

If the machine acts MORE NORMAL suspect your wall
vent is the TROUBLE (needs cleaning or replacement).

This is a very common cause of HOUSE FIRES...
So DO NOT pretend things are "better"...\

Make sure...!!
or hire a PROFESSIONAL VENT CLEANER

Blocked vent will cause excessive heat...

HIGH temp thermostat will stop machine
for life & safety reasons.

SERIOUSLY...!!

The dryer runs. after 20 minutes or so stops. i think themotor is getting hot because there is too much load on it maybe the rollers are too sticky?

disconnect vent and run dryer, as it sounds as though the vent is restricted. Hope this helps Tim

your not getting enough air to fuel ratio and you need to open the air vent just a quarter of a turn

its the ptc relay go to repairclinic.com...type in model #...its a cheap and easy fix.if you see what the part looks like on line youll find it on cooler.should be left of compressor behind black plastic cover with 1 screw

Hello, sounds like the rear drum rollers are in need of replacement which is causing the motor to get hot and cut out on the thermal cut out. It can be tricky to service if you not handy. Good Luck

The dryer is clogged disconnect the exhaust hose(usually a 3-4 inch thin spring like tube) from the back of the dryer and clean out the entire thing disconnect it from the window (I imagine this is what you have it connected through?) and make sure all lint is removed and then reattach. Also make sure you don't have to much slack going from the machine to the window. Cut any access hose off. It should go the shortest possible path no big loops or sags! After this it should heat up like you just pulled it out of the box.

MAgic Chef top loading washer will not spin or drain

you have to open it,at the bottom of the drum it has a either clear or black plastic hose that goes to pump held together with pressure clips remove them water will flow then ,it also will flood the aerea around it,so plenty of soil to soak it up
