Just saw you at the top of the list so i thought i would ask:

Ok so i recently just revived my old piece of **** emachines desktop by swapping out the power supplies.

then i moved on to another problem.

i don't have a standalone video card on this pc. there is a on board video card and i cant really tell if its damaged or anything. i mean it looks like it's always looked.

the fan is running on the board and everything looks like its working (no beeps) and i know for sure the monitor works (i plugged it into my laptop). but it won't recognize the signal from the pc.

is there anything i can do? or should i just look into getting a video card and try that?

you don't have to respond but i am just stumped.
thanks, Joel

2) Left-click on Properties in the drop down list.

3) Left-click on the Start Menu tab. (Unless it automatically opens to the Start Menu tab)

4) Make sure there is a Green dot in the small circle, to the left of Start menu. If not left-click in the small circle to the left of Start menu.

I have an emachine model 390 (possibly) which is in trouble. yesterday I found it with its power switch constantly flashing & making a clicking noise. I was unable to turn it off by the switch on the...

Hi Nicki,
Sorry, this really sounds bad, it would seem that the hard drive is shot from your description. The data may or may not be recoverable. If you get a new drive, you will have to partition it first, then set it as your Master drive, then set the old one as a slave, install your operating system onto the master drive and try to recover the information on the old drive after you have that done. If you cannot successfully recover the information that way, you most likely won't be able to get it at all unless you backed it up onto a flash or cds or dvds.
Sorry for the news but that is what it sounds like

I need an Emachine monitor base piece. The piece that the monitor sits on got lost during our recent move.

I generally go to Ebay when I need to replace a part or find 'hard to find' items. You can find monitor stands on ebay for a reasonable price. You just have to make sure that the stand will work with your emachines monitor. All you have to do is look at the back to see how the stand attaches to the monitor and look for the same mount type. Below is a link to an ebay listing for 15 inch monitor stands.

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=15+LCD+monitor+stands&_sacat=0&_odkw=emachines+E15+monitor&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

You can also contact ebay by chat by following this link and ask if they have stands available for your monitor. There are none listed on the emachines site, but that does not mean that they are not available. The link to the Emachines contact page is:

http://www.emachines.com/corporate/contacts.html

These are two suggestions for finding a replacement monitor base or stand. I hope that you will be able to located the proper stand from these resources.

If I can be of further assistance to you, please let me know.

I have an emachine that is 5 years old. Always

YOUR PSU (POWER SUPPLY UNIT) MAYBE THE CULPRIT. If the power to your cable which fits the computer is ok, then the supply unit is usually at fault. You can buy these pretty cheaply on ebay and they are very easy to fit, or if you are not into that find a mate who can! beleive me... its pretty easy.

Ok, i have two things to ask 1: Where is the video card on a emachines W3503? 2: Could a video card swap be done between a W3503 and a W3052? Thank you for viewing :)

1. The emachines W3503 has an integrated ATI Radeon™ X300 based graphics card. It has also a PCI Express (PCIe x16) slot available.

2. The emachines W3052 has a NVIDIA® GeForce®4™ MX graphics card. I'm not sure whether it is integrated or not, but I'm sure that if it is not, it will be an AGP graphics card. Since The emachines W3503 has a PCI Express (PCIe x16) slot available for installing a graphics card, the swapping of graphics cards between the 2 machines is not possible since they support different types of graphics cards.
