Mitsubishi LT-52148 lcd tv turns on for 2 seconds with sound and shuts off.Tried resetting.What could be the problem?

Yes! Use the digital audio output from the Mitsubishi TV to the soundbar! You need a digital audio cable that usually comes with the soundbar!

Hey it sounds like u have did everything, so check and make sure u downloaded the right firmware on a good USB drive such as a 4GB and make sure format it with Fat32 before u download. Have seen that before with jump drive device and follow directions from Mfg website. If does not work then the CPU or Eprom has been corrupted and main board needs replacing.

     Locate the power supply unit and take its metal casing off. Once again, different models of LCD monitors will have the unit placed in different locations. With the casing undone, unplug cables running from the power supply to other internal components. Mark the cables that you unplug from the power supply--you will have to plug them back in to the new unit.

     Dislodge the power supply from its dock. In some monitors you might have to undo screws that hold the power supply unit in place. Remember the orientation of the unit as it was placed, because you will have to insert the new unit in exactly the same way.

If you do not have a new power supply, read the label on the existing one to order a new one from the manufacturer or from a third-party supplier. Obtain a power supply unit that is compatible with your LCD monitor; never try to use a generic spare.      Put the power supply casing back on and reassemble the LCD monitor frame. Gently clasp the two halves of the monitor shut, making sure you have reattached all cables that you unplugged to take the monitor apart. Close the casing, tucking away all cables neatly so they do not get in the way of the monitor casing.

     Put all the screws back on. Once done, you should have no leftover pieces (screws or cables).

tried to get with reset, if can not resolved do this. hooked up with a power PC speaker at the audio out jack. then turn on the tv unit as well as the powered pc speaker and make some volume adjustment. if you can get sound there the cause will be the sound amplifier circuit ( amplifier ic ). if you can not get sound there the problem will be in the sound processor at the main board.

The panel is bad. Contact mitsubishi . Some of these units have 5 year warr on the screen.

Just fixed this on my TV today! (after 2 months of the sound intermittently failing to turn on and failing completely yesterday) Go to Mitsubishi-tv.com. Go to support. Enter your model number. You will be directed to the documentation for your model which will include a zip file for a firmware update and a PDF file with instructions for installing the update. This fixed my sound.

do nothing except reset, if in warranty call Mitsubishi.

that problem is going to be an LCD panel failure. it is actually a T-CON failure but mitsubishi doesnt sell the T-CON board by itself i suggest calling mitsubishi about possible repair accomodation customer support phone number - 1(800)332-2119 good luck

Its the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the TV there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.
