Suggest you enter the bios and make a setting change. Open the manual to page 2-24. The M1573 RAID function set this to [Disabled]. (This will stop the bios from loading the RAID controller.) See boot menu page 2-31 section 2.6 Set section 2.6.1 Boot device priority as shown. (The drive with windows installation on it should be in the boot order). You can also unplug either the data cable or power cable of the slave drive to assure it does not boot. If you still receive a blue screen with the primary drive suggest you re-install windows or boot to the windows CD and create a new partition within the free space of the primary drive. Install windows complete including updating. When finished you'll be able to copy you're data to the new windows. Use windows disk manger program (diskmgmt.msc) in the run window to delete the old windows partition. Some programs will need to be reinstalled. If you're using a scsi card and connecting the hard drive to the card you need to have the scsi set-up floppy disk. When the blue screen starts during windows installation watch the bottom of the screen. It will tell you to press F6 key then to insert the floppy disk.
If you're using a sata drive connected directly to the motherboard (not in a raid configuration) you shouldn't need anything but the windows disk. The motherboard drivers and utilities disk should have the files to create the scsi install disk.
try to find updated drivers from ASUS and see if you also can find a BIOS update. Most times the BIOS update will solve most known issues. OPreferably do it via old-fashioned diskdrive, that is still the most reliable.

Look under Advanced/Southbridge/SATA
Check the SATA/RAID controller setting.
It could have been set to [Disabled]
Refer to your user?s manual for a detailed description on how to enable the onboard SATA/RAID controller by adjusting the jumper or BIOS settings.
