The oven fan keeps running. My Grand Daughter baked pastries while visiting me (she's attending Culinary School in upstate New York), and everything turned out just right. Afterwards when my Grand Daughter, my Daughter, and I were getting ready to fly back to their home in the North East, we noticed the oven fan never stopped. After I returned home almost a month later, the oven fan was, and is still running.

Try to reset it ..by unplugging the oven ..and put it back after 30 minutes or so ...it may be a function set ..and remained there ...if the fan is not stopping ..than it is probably a wire that has a bad connection and feed s it with electricity when it not supposed to...probably the isolation went off from the heat ...and in this case you need to call for a specialized hand to see the short and fix it ..

The fan keeps runnig afetr baking a pudding

HI,
The fans will continue to run to cool the electronics in the panel, this is normal for all wall oven and some free standing model too. As the unit cools the fan will shut off when it reaches below 200 degrees.
I hope this answers your question

I am very happy with my new smeg oven but no where in the oven manual does it say how to cook puff pastry for example a pie. I have a wall built in oven and have tried turbo and static function

Hello blachett989,

I belive they refer to puf pastry as Fruit Tarts under the sweeties label in the owners manual. As I do not know what model number oven you have I have looked at a few of the owners manuals on line. It states the different types of modes and temperature and approximate cook time for the pastry or tart as they refer to it.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.com if you have anymore questions about this unit I will need a model number to help furthure.

I have a new Frigedaire self cleaning oven. Before I got to read the manual my daughter baked a cake which dripped onto the oven floor and began to smoke. To catch more drips I put a pice of tinfoil on...

Greetings,
remove as much tin foil that is possible...use something like hot water and mild detergent to loosen up the baked on cake residue...this should come up ok with alittle elbow grease...then run your self clean cycle...All will be ok....Bruce Denton

Viking 27" Electric Oven Noise

Hello. The Viking does have fans which operate continuously to insure even baking. If it sounds like fans running, this is the convection fan operating. J.

Got a fan assisted gas oven. Trying to bake a cake

Temperature control with gas ovens is not an exact science. However the control should be better than you say.

Have you tried reducing the set temperature to compensate for the 'overshoot'. It may be worth a try.

How do I use this oven? Is it working correctly?

It would seem that the oven is small enough that a fan to flow the heat from the unit would be in use for both convection and bake modes. Usually convection ovens will have a "burst" of fan action during the bake process and it is not a steady fanning of the air that would dry out your cookies, ect. I have a small oven / microwave and my larger oven is a GE that has the "burst" convection that I described. Might not be that much help, but it's hard without more info on your unit. sometimes the model is behind the oven door.

Oven fan keeps running even after off and door open

3 to 4 hours is a long time. Get to the fans (behind the control panel) and check the screens for dust. Chances are the screens are clogged with dust and need to be cleaned so the fans can move air for cooling better. I had this problem on my GE JTP14, and after cleaning just one fan it can keep up with cooling the electronic area while the oven is running. It runs much less often.

Safety first! cut the breaker before removing anything with a nice conductive screwdriver! Hope this helps!
