My avanti thermoelectric compact refrigerator periodically runs very loud which is not normal. If I hit it, it stops and runs quietly again. Any ideas? I have already cleaned the dust off thoroughly and ensured that the appliance is level.

The noise if from a sympathetic vibration of the unit which transforms to vibrate any loose joints, parts or fittings.
You will need to listen to the noise, use your hand to hold up the plastics or the joints in the bottom section of the unit or the frame work. It will require a lot of patience to find the source of noise. Pad it up after tapping for loose noise on the rear and insulate the noise heard till you finally get rid of any vibration noise..

Avanti EWC1201 wine chiller constantly runs.

This is Thermoelectric Cooler, so no compressor. Clean around the back where the heatsink and fan is.

Should my haier 1.7 compact refrigerator run

this is a thermoelectric model and runs on a peltier junction. It will always have the fan running. That is the only moving part.

Not getting very cold

thermoelectric needs a good heat dissipation. Give the unit a good ventilation to dissipate the heat, you will cool the unit. The cooler the ambient, the cooler the box. Remember not to reverse the switch, you will get a heated box instead.

Will not keep cooling shuts off

Sounds like a your problem may be in the thermostat. Reason I say that is because when you leave the door open it continues to run and freeze and frost is seen on the freezer walls. I just think maybe the thermostat has become less sensitive to temperature change. To test this unplug the freezer and connect the 2 wires to the temp control together. Then the refrigerator will run continuous until unplugged. Let me know, Sea Breeze

Avanti EC15W-2 Thermoelectric - stopped cooling. Purchased on August 3, 2006.  Has always been quiet. Still is, but I can hear that something's running if I put my ear to it. Light works.  Any suggestions?...

I think the circuit board is nothing more than a power supply converting the 120 volts ac to dc. If that goes then there is no way for the solid state device to cool,
Is there dust under the back cover? Is there frost/ice build up in the fridge fan compartment. I suggest to unplug for a day and try again. Hope this helps.
