I need help threading the straps correctly on our convertible car seat. We had to wash the cover and can't remember how to get the straps back. Thanks.

Your not suppose to wash the cover...as bad as it sounds you are suppose to spot clean only... after you remove the cover their not safe any more.

My son has special needs so I must wash his seat often. I can not remember how to put the straps locks back so...


First, whenever I wash the car seat cover, I rethread the straps immediately. I only unhook one at a time and look at the one that is still threaded to see how to re hook the one I am working on.

Since you can't do that at this point, I suggest going to a store that sells car seats, look at how the straps are hooked and if you have a picture phone - take a photo!

First turn seat upside down. There should be a slot on each side under the seat, run strap through each slot and turn back over. Pull strap up evenly, put on clasp part on each side, then put chest clasps on, run your straps through back and secure to strap comes between legs.

Those pieces WILL snap out, it just takes a bit of effort. Both my son and the boy that I nanny for have this car seat and I have taken them apart for washing the cover a couple of times. Just make sure to remember where everything goes back to.
If you're having difficulty prying them up, try using two spoons. Wedge either the handle ends or the spoon ends under either side and use them to leverage the piece up.

I need help putting the straps back on a Cosco 5-point car seat. Took it apart to wash and can't get it back together

Product number and the manufacture date is located on the side, back, or under the base.

i took the cover off the car seat and straps to wash the cover but have no clue how to put them back on.

if you have a 22260 car seat is easy
1, on the base of the seat there is a push down clip that you need to push down and remove the steel bar of by sliding it out
2 unclip the seat strap for the seat by removing the brass "Y" on the back .PAY ATTENTION ON HOW YOU REMOVE THE STRAP IS ALL ONE PICE AND YOU NEED TO LOOP IT FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHERE
3. on the back of the seat there is 2 screws that you need to remove. the you remove the adj. back.
4. remove the cover and wash you can place it in the dryer or hand out to dry
5. instill the same way you removed

NO!!!! You NEVER take chances with a car seat!!! Contact the manufacturer about how to put straps in correctly. Then go down to your local police department to have a car seat safety check done!!!!!
