Open cpu cabinet then you can motherboard pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 seconds then put it back reconnect RAM memory reconnect both connection to harddrive .Make sure motherboard is not ground with cabinet. Then check. Also when you power up the computer press F8 key 5 to 6 times then if you are able to see safe mode and other menu enter in "Enable vga mode" then go to display property and change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Monitor will not turn on? westinghouse model L2046NV black screen will not turn on what should I do?

Do you see an orange light on the monitor anywhere? Usually the light turns green when the monitor comes on, but its orange when in "standby" mode. If your monitor is plugged in and you get an orange light, that usually means that your video card has gone out on your computer. When your video card goes out, the monitor doesn't receive a signal from your computer, so it doesn't know it is suppose to turn on. So if this is the case, you need to replace the video card on your computer

If your monitor doesn't turn on whatsoever, and everything is plugged in correctly, then you need to get a new monitor or send this one back to the manufacturer for a defective replacement.

Hope this helps! :)

The monitor will not turn on. When power button

First--was it working?
Did it suddenly stop?
When you see the LG logo, then it goes away, does the power light turn from green to amber? Sounds like that doesn't happen.
So--if you are getting a signal, you should see something.
If there is no signal, then the power light should change from green to orange.
With no lights at all, I suspect a faulty monitor.

Monitor will not stay on

Generally Monitors have a single light in fron pannel, with dual mode colors as Green and Orange.

Green: Everything is OK .
Orange: Everything is OK, except it is not getting
any signals from computer or other source.

Try with any other monitor with your CPU, it may happen that CPU actually not providing any signal to Monitor. Try checking the "NUM LOCK" button on and off, whether it makes the light on keyboard to flash on or off.
If NUM LOCK is woking OK, there is surely some problme with your monitor and you need to get is checked physically with an engineer.

Green light flashing, but monitor won't come on

Sounds like signal issue, some older monitor lights do not turn orange when no signal is present from the computer. They simply blink instead of staying solid.

- I would test to see if monitor works on another computer with a known working monitor. If the monitor works then you know you have a video output issue.

If the monitor does not, you have a dead monitor.

Cheers,

Dell 17" monitor is not turning on.

1. Check the cable with the blue connector. Make sure it's plugged well to the back of the computer.

2. CHeck the light on the CPU's power button. If it's solid green, press the numlock key on the keyboard. Tell me, if the numlock light on the keyboard turned off or on. You can press it again if you didnt catch anything.

3. If there are no lights on the keyboard or the computer when you turn it on, the computer is the problem.

Just post here what lights are present or what happens when you press the numlock key.

Light on monitor is green when turned on, but then turns orange with nothing on the screen. I can hear the computer running though.

your monitor is not recieving a video signal from your pc. check your connection to pc, then check things like bad memory card, etc. sometimes just shut pc on and off a few times clears this up.

Viewsonic VG700b bug

The light turning to orange means the monitor is not getting a signal from the computer. Check your monitor cable at both ends and make sure it is in very tight and secure at the computer end as well. Also check to see if the computer stays on when the light goes to orange on the monitor. The power cord for the computer might be loose.

No display

if your monitor is not connected to a pc, then it cannot find a vga signal input and therefore go into power saving mode, which is indicated by the orange light, but as soon as you connect to the pc and power on the light will go green and the monitor will power up.
