try to uninstall the driver then install it again
note:
1-after you uninstall make restart for computer.
2-don`t connect the scanner USB until the driver installer required this.
Disconnect the scanner from the computer. Uninstall driver software, shut down and restart the Comp. Reinstall the driver. the printer/scanner restart your computer then reinstall the printer/scanner
and its drivers click start control panel

ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp
printer port you might see a yellow? ! question or eclamation mark or a red X this will mean you need to
install a new driver for this device right click you will have options to update
driver,disable,uninstall or select properties again you will have the similiar

your scanner is ok. But there is communication problem from computer to scanner . For that Check your usb cxable and usb port of computer working fine. Try in another usb port. If you have other port like parallel port then check it. Check drivers of scanner are instaled proeprly. Ig already installed then uninstall it and install again. Also uninstall all usb drivers then restart the computer then it automatic install usb drivers . you can uninstall usb drivers from computer with device manager. Press windows key + Pause break key to see system proeprty then go to hardware then you see device manager then uninstall all usb drivers.
chk for the scanner drivers in the control panel..try uninstall and reinstalling them if you see them...then try scanning from the computer first to see if the drivers are installed.if it works make sure you have the s/w properly installed to scan to the computer..

I have Acer Scan Prisa 640C Flatbed Scanner ,which is having parallel port. When I installed the driver ,start to scan ,the computer does not recognise the port ( Parallel Port ).
So please help to solve this problem step by step instruction.
My operating system is Windows XP Professional.
