Are you on Consumer Verizon DSL? Fair warning if you are using Business Static- the Actiontec is a poor choice due to issues working on a static IP circuit. - I'd use a 6110 and a third party router! However, by default, the only thing you would need to do to setup the modem is go through the activation page when you plug the modem in. If you require an user name and password, it would set that up. Bar any problems, you can contact Verizon technical support since the Actiontec Gateway is fully supported.

Cannot connect through verizon dsl westell 6100g modem

Call verizon dsl and make sure you have your account username and password (given to you by verizon when the connection was put in your home) when you get them on the phone. also make sure you have the username and password for your Linksys device.

I have a linksys befw11s4 router, and a verizon 6100G modem. I'm so confused I did what i had to do to get the router and modem activated and logged on to my router "192.168.1.1" then...

You will need to get the right User ID and Password before proceeding.

Also make your Verizon 6100G LAN port is connected to your BEFW11S4 WAN port.

How do I set up my 7501 wireless router? I have a westell router model a90-750115-07. It was working yesterday with my old modem and we were upgraded to a faster internet modem that allows a home phone....

Admin/password should take you in.
This 7501 is preconfigured to be a wireless router. You should be able to directly connect it to Internet (Cable/DSL modem) to Wan port and use the details of Wireless access in the back of the modem to get connected. By default it is setup to WEP and the access details are on the back of the Westell 7501.
Its available for 19.99 on VErizon site now.

AT&T Westell modem keeps dropping internet and i have to unplug power cord and reconnect to regain connection at least twice an hour

If that is a westell 6100F series, that is the problem. Westell admits they had trouble with that series staying connecting. Try finding a westell 6100G. I had the exact same problem with verizon.

hi,

I used to work for verizon for two years as level 3 support, here is the thing,if verizon already replaced the modem, that means that its not really the modem, its the connection, thats what we call intermittent route, here is what you are going to do,contact verizon, have them run an intermittent connection line test, tell them that internet connection is not consistent, they will create an active ticket for you,it will be forwarded to the central office and the central office will run a different test, thats what we call a test assist...they will be able to verify if the problem is the line form the central office going to your house...

thanks and God Bless

Ps3 key change timeout using westell 6100 modem on verizon

there might be a problem with the Linksys router, the Westell 6100 should be 1st set to bridge mode in order for your router to be connected to it. or there could also be a proble on the Verizon server.

Westell 2200 modem

You have options definitely. You can get it through verizon, they'll ship it to you free of charge. You can also buy it at any local store near you. If you're going with the second option, just make sure you're getting either an Actiontec or Westell brand, because those are the only modem that Verizon supports, even if you buy it outside. Since you're going to upgrade your modem, I suggest getting a Westell 7500 or an Actiontec GT704, both are wireless capable already. If you use XBOX 360, I suggest getting Westell 327 or Actiontec GT701 or GT704.
